BENCHMADE or KERSHAW.

The Benchmade guys and the Kershaw guys are arguing to much so coming from a guy that owns multipule products from both companys I'm going to have to say Spyderco.

If you have a problem with what I said, PM me and we will talk that way.

No problem at all. You summed it up pretty well.

I have no problem with 2Brothers either, I just didn't think he needed to provide misinformation about Benchmade in order to sell Kershaw. Kershaw sells Kershaw pretty darn well!;)

I have given this alot of thought and visited this thread many times..... I think the guys that keep saying Spyderco may have a point (sorta...LOL) I'm solidly a Kershaw guy, but, to arrive at that point I tried them all. If you are really unsure I'd say try one of each (or spend a little time at the knife store assuming one is close), they all offer such a different experience. You will fall in love with one or all of them (that's where it gets tricky and expensive). Enjoy the hunt.

Oh, BTW.. I carry a Random Leek, works well in trousers, jeans and the like, carrys slim and light, and has one of my all time favorite blade shapes.

I like the Mini Grip better but if you were going to get a Kershaw I would get the JYD instead of the Leek because it compares a little better in size with the Grip. If you get the Leek get the G10 S30V version. No matter which one you choose you will have a knife made by a GREAT company. THUMBS UP to Both Kershaw and Benchmade! GOOD LUCK! Kevin

I personally do not care at all for the cheesy cheap feeling handles on these knives or the nested liners. I'd prefer quality feeling handles and full liners myself. I also don't care for the warrnanty preventing you taking the knife apart to maintain it with BenchMade but they are not alone in this.

Agree. I was lucky enough to grab the 552M2-600 while it was available. It's a great knife and I know the scales are plenty strong and capable, but would have preferred g-10 or micarta and/or a more substantial steel liner. Have tinkered with the notion of making a set of scales for it (just for fun), never tried it on an axis lock knife though. Don't like the warranty thing either; I understand it, just don't care for it.

Concerning the comments on Grips and available steels: It should also be noted that while the Grip was available in M2, it was in very limited numbers and you will not see them for sale very often.
