Purple!!! :p

Yep... Very purple :D

I found one a few years back for my wife, and for some strange reason, after seeing hers, I had to have one.
The early 440C Mini Grips that have colored scales aren't easy to find that are in good condition. The purple knives are almost impossible to get...
My first Mini was a 440C version right after they were released, so I have a soft spot for them. Both of these are N.I.B, and I picked up this N.I.B Lime green 555 plain edge awhile back too :D

The only Grip I still have is the first Ritter Grip. That's a keeper for sure! Might put some aftermarket scales on it one of these days.

In all the years I have been carrying and collecting Mini Griptilians, I have only seen one early 557 in 440C come up for sale, and it was a beater.
Then I stumbled onto this one last week, N.I.B... It's my first 557. The original clip is glossy black, so I switched it out for a matte finish. It has some pocket wear on it, but I like the look better

Nice... Congrats on the little buck

Thanks. Nothing to brag about but glad I got "something". Last year got nadda. I never thought would find him cause thought made a gut shot and was real worried especially with all the wolves out here. But I must have got him in the back of the lungs cause he didn't get more than 150 yards. Never found the arrow. Found him within 45 minutes of looking with little blood to go by. Think it went right through him. Was using magnus stingers and they don't leave much of a wound but obviously got good penetration. I'm happy. Don't know if going bow hunting for deer next year's though. Took me good 3 weeks to get this one. Could have got 2-3 deers worth of meat from grouse or ducks with time put in here.

You get any thing Mike?

That can be a frustrating thing about archery hunting. It sometimes takes a lot of time and effort. If you are use to rifle hunting it might take a couple seasons to get use to the change. On the other hand, it isn't for everyone. That should be a great eating buck...

I didn't get anything again this year. I saw deer and elk, but couldn't get a good shot. I could have taken a shot at a little forked horn buck, but it was to far, and I didn't get to shoot like I normally do before the season, so I wasn't comfortable taking the shot.
It's all good though. I saw animals and got to play the game, and got a lot of camping time in.

Yep, there's a reason it's called hunting and not killing. :)

I have great respect for hunters that don't take shots they shouldn't. It happens way too often.

Absolutely Cody. If it was easy, everyone would do it lol...

Sadly you are right. Things have changed. You have to have respect for the animals, and unfortunately many do not have that respect.
I hunt for the meat because I love it, but I don't want it bad enough to take a bad shot, and chance having the animal suffer.

All-time favorite knife will always be my 275, and one thing I'm loving about this little ESEE is how much it reminds me of it. Both are nice, thick blades with near-identical bellies. It's like my mini-Adamas.
