Benchmade Sibert 755 MPR

I like the color of the G10 a LOT. It looked a little strange in the photos on the site. Thanks for posting pics! Looks like a little pocket monster

Wish it was about twice to three times that size. Man what I would give for a 6 inch Titanium frame lock....

We can only hope the success of this leads benchmade to more collaborations with Shane, as he truly makes some awesome and large folders.

I can't stop looking at those photos!

It is thick, but it sure didn't stop me from preordering one.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

i like it but i wish it wasnt so thick

Yeah, if you want a slim gent's knife, this would definitely not be the right model for you. However, if you want a tough, beefy work knife that is of legal length almost everywhere in the US, this is one of the best examples out there.

There is info about this knife on Knifeworks "Blade Length: 3.4 in.", on this thread is mentioned it is just 3 inches, I'm confused - are 2 sizes in production?

I believe this is due to some misprint on BM behalf when the preorders first went out, the blade was listed wrong. Most places have corrected.

Wow that is a nice knife and the pics are great also. where is the best place to get one?

There is not best place to get one at this point. The few that have been released so far have just about all gone to fill preorders. I've had my preorder in since January and just received mine at the end of last week. I've been carrying it for the past three days.

We probably won't start seeing these regularly available until May-June once Benchmade releases more and all preorders are filled from dealers.

I try to stop in at my local knife shop about once a week. Today they had a BM Sibert 755 on display and I had a chance to play with it.

It is a tank of a knife. It opened and closed smoothly. The frame lock was solid. Absolutely no play in the blade and it centered precisely. I will have one before too long.

My only gripe and it is a minor one:
I wasn't expecting a long blade (and perhaps it was merely an optical illusion because the blade is so deep it almost seems square) but it was even shorter than I thought it would be.

That thing looks like a little metal brick!

I like little metal bricks.:D

I've handled one. It is a very nice knife. I wish it were 4-4.5", but I guess that's personal preference.

I fondled one at my pusher's lair last week. Nice knife. Only fault I could find:

MINE ISN'T HERE YET!!

Wahhh!

I re-opened this thread to ask a question. I really like this knife and would
like to buy one. I played around with one in store.
I have one concern though. The lock stop. The one I handled seemed to
have the lock stop resting right up against the side of the blade. What is
going to happen to this knife as the years go on with respect to wear and
no more room for the frame lock to move over to compensate? Will it
develop blade play? I understand with the design it will never move over to
the opposite scale/frame but does it really fix the possibility of wear once
it hits the stop?
Also, does someone have a picture of this knife opened in hand? I'm curious
as to if you can get 4 digits around it or is it more of a 3 and a half finger
size? Thanks again. :)

Read all the posts in this thread and your first question will be answered. There is a stop pit with flat sides that can be adjusted. If you think the one you handled has an issue though, do not buy it is my advice.

There were a lot of issues with the release of this knife mostly early releases , what is odd is mine is #542 out of 1000 first run and there are no issues whatsoever with it. Which there sure as hell better not have been any issues or I would have ripped BM a new butt. When one pays over $200 for a production knife it had better be in flawless condition and work exactly as described.
By the way Benchmade , the color you guys chose for the G10 , sucks..

If I were you I would check the sale forums here , I have seen these knives go for as little as $110. You do not want to know what I paid for mine..... oh well.
