I sent in a 790 and 710 to lifesharp for sharpening and warranty service. I requested that they both be sharpened and stripped screw replaced and also a parkerized clip for the 710 if possible.

The 710 came back with the new clip and sharpened.

The 790 came back exactly as I sent it, kinda disappointing; I guess they forgot about it :D

I called them up and they told me to ship it back in and they'll rush it (which I really hope they do because Christmas is coming up.) I'll go do that tomorrow.

If you were wondering, it took 3 weeks total to get them back.

You giving these away as Xmas gifts?

Then why the rush, just grab another EDC until the 790 returns.

That's why we are callled knifeknuts...................

I realize everyone makes mistakes so I understand; Jen seemed like a very pleasant lady on the phone and she assured me it would be rushed. I was planning to give the 790 To a buddy who recently graduated basic training for the Navy. The 710 if anyone remembers s from the trade with Igor.

Sorry, I know that is disappointing; but stuff does happen at times. Any experience I have ever had with BM has been stellar. :)

Sent the 790 in today and included the invoice they sent with a note on it. I'll keep you guys update when I get the knife back.

Sorry to read about your experience. Benchmade like everyone will mess an order or two up, but they will take care of your 790 and get it back to you in good shape I'm sure of that.

Their CS/Warranty dept is among the very best there is when it comes to backing up their products.

Let us know how it turns out!

They made a mistake with their LS service when my friend sent a fullsize Rukus in.

1. They didn't sharpen it.
2. They lost the pivot screw.

I guess it isn't that common, but annoying when it happens nonetheless.

Got the 790 back today.. Completely the same again.. Blade was sent back unsharpened for the second time; how does that happen? Big thumbs down.:thumbdn:

That's bullcrap. Twice in a row and you even sent it in with a note.
They should reimburse you for shipping both times.

Yeah, I explicitly stated that they didn't sharpen it the first time and that I do want it sharpened, guess that wasn't enough?

Called them up and got transfered a couple times until I reached Crystal; she said that no matter what, all knives that are sent in are sharpened. I told her i sharpen my knives by hand and know for sure the knife hasn't been sharpened. She said to sent it back in with attention to her, but I'm not going to. I've already wasted around $20 and Christmas is in 3 days.

It's pretty hard to believe this happened twice.

3rd times the charm..

I spoke with Crystal a few times and let her know what I wanted and she let me know that they would make sure to sharpen it this time.

Got the knife back and they finally did. Now I just need to figure out to do with all of the lifesharp boxes..
