I just got my Osborne 940 in yesterday but it came with a 943 blade but under the benchmade logo 940 is stamped! Any comments

Seems like the usual issues with Benchmade's quality control as of late. I'd send it back. I for the most part swore off Benchmade because of the QC and the pricing policy they went to. However, the 485 Valet and 808 Loco have caught my attention.

Sincere question, since I'm not familiar: what issues have they been having?

I don't own any BM knives. This isn't a trap.

New knives with poor centering, blade play mostly. Also omega springs breaking quickly.

Of the last five I've bought, three had very uneven grinds....two were grips and the other, a mini grip. The 755 was flawless, and my 707 wasn't perfectly centered, but it was barely noticeable. In fact, I didn't spot it until id had id for several days.

I have owned quite a few benchmades in my life, and ive never had a single issue. Theyre always perfect as they should be.

People saying benchmade has QC issues seem much more an anomaly than the usual.

Some folks have been having issues. Since June 2015 I have bought a 531, 14715, 14716, 485. REI Griptilian and a m390 Ritter Griptilian and for the most part all were fine.
Both HKs were perfect!
The 531 and both Griptilians were perfect.
The 485 had some side to side play and a bit of vertical play when open. I took off the blade and cleaned and polished the tang as well as the washers, oiled and adjusted. Still a little tight but zero side to side play and the vertical will work out in time as it breaks in.

It does seem form Bfs that I am getting a bit more luck than others. (all but the REI Grip and the 531 were bought online)
The 531 was an impulse purchase that I am glad I made. a slim, solid EDC.

Please post pictures.

Thank you for the explanations, guys. I do appreciate it. I hadn't heard anything about these issues. I know people often ask questions for the purpose of challenging the poster, and I appreciate your willingness to follow up.

This is a more recent development, and is why with the major hit on pricing, people got pissed off. My 162 rolled and chipped terribly when I first got it. I sent it to benchmade, gave me a whole new knife. Which I promptly sold.

I've seen more QC issues with Benchmades in recent times Moreso than in years before. I will say, however, that their customer service is still great. If there's a problem, they'll make it right.

my 810 came with an uneven grind and also hit the backspacer. I love how smooth the axis is but cant stand the slight slight vertical play all my knives have.

Also I thought the 940 and 943 were the same handle. Is the only difference color?
