Dealer's need to be voicing complaints to Benchmade as well. IMO that knife should have never left BladeHQ to go to a customer just like it should have never left Benchmade. This is why I buy from dealer's that go the extra mile. Maybe I've had great luck with my Benchmades because I've bought just about all of them from KnivesShipFree.

New Graham Knives did voice their complaints to BM and I guess they didn't like what they heard because they no longer carry BM products. This says a lot about BM because I have the utmost respect for NGK. I've been in the store and talked the owner more than once, outstanding guy.
 
Got me wondering now. Seems to be going around at BHQ.

I bought a 940 off a guy in the exchange a few months back who bought a 940 off BHQ (he tells me) and it came stamped with S90v rather than S30v. There is no way to verify if it's S30v or S90v. Blade has been good to me so far. No complaints, just strange to see two of these similar models pass through with strange issues like this.

FWIW

I did call Benchmade and I told them I got a standard green handle 940 stamped S90v and they said I was lucky and it should be fine. That's about all I got from the call.
 
I've got a Mini Grip, FS Grip , Mini Barrage , North Fork, 484-1, Mini Infidel ,808 Loco and a 940-1 .
All have solid lock up , centering and fit and finish is top notch .
Love them all and either I'm very lucky and or there's a few unlucky folks on this thread .

I also can't help but wonder if someone bought both a 940 and a 940-1 and did a blade swap. I would prefer S30V to S90V (I know I'm probably in the minority there).
 
I will trade S-30 blades for S-90 blades all day long. I will even perform the switch.
