Benchmade's new MAP for Gold Class is full MSRP

The “limited-unlimited” gold class knives are made in the such large quantities and, from my experience, aren’t finished any better than their regular production knives. Just look at the blade edge of the gold class bugout in pictures, average finish with rough grind marks. I would expext better for $750.

Now I’ve handled some very nice small batch gold class offering with polished edges and excellent fit and finish as well. You can feel and see the extra care and work that went into these.

If this is expanded to the whole line (which I suspect is the plan), I will not buy another Benchmade.

In my book, they have already used up 97% of my tolerance for the poor QC and lack of value to price ratio, this will be my finally straw if so.

As someone who collects Gold Classes (I'm up to 4 now, but at one point had 8+), I've personally never seen them advertised at less than MSRP anyways, except on Fleabay. But the dealers that I buy from are always willing to sell for much less than MSRP. The margin on these knives is healthy enough for them to sell at a couple hundred under retail and still make a profit (I.e. Most Recently, Presidio Gold MSRP: $650. Sale Price: $450). Benchmade has always frowned upon advertising for less than MSRP on their limiteds, but I guess this just makes it official. It still doesn't mean that the dealer can't SELL for less.

I think these are going to be well below MAP . If you know what I mean :D . I’m hoping for 40% so I can pick some up .
