Benchmade's QC Problems.

Nice looking 551 pictured above. Taking it out after a year must be a good feeling if you're carrying it regularly. I look at some of mine and feel the same way. Some are 'Queens', but many are available for use as they pick me to use them it seems. With school, work and an impending move out of state, I am wondering about whether to keep them all, as It's boiled down to a dozen or less; the ones that are my core favorites. The jury's still out.

On an update: I am keeping track of my 10000001 Volli still at the factory for warranty work. It's now into the fifth week. This knife is such a good one it will probably join the above said list of keepers...If it ever arrives I hope it will be as I expect.

Cheers!

You're finally making the dash for freedom? Great!

Where to?

Looks like the state of Virginia's calling us away from California P., and yes, making a 'dash for freedom' as a description really fits. That feels just about right. Am studying for national certification so to go to work once we've landed there.

...and now back to the regularly scheduled program...

Just this year ive bought a benchmade 860 bedlam, and a benchmade 51 morpho. I have to say TOP NOTCH. Absolutely flawless edges, finish, fit, and lockup, again, flawless. Im sure some of their knives have qc issues, but I couldnt be happier with mine. Well worth the price in my opinion. Plus, their warranty is unmatched by any company.

I do not carry Benchmades any more as I have just grown out of the axis lock and back to simplicity at its finest.
However when I was a "Benchmade" I loved my Mini Rukus and Skirmish. Those things were amazing in every aspect from fit and finish. To the solid lock and smooth action.

OK fellas; called Benchmade and the Volli's in transit and out for delivery this evening. Fingers crossed!

Aren't you excited thinking about all the cool toys you'll now be legal to own? Oooo..and maybe even a CCW permit. :) At least I THINK Virginia is still a free state....maybe depending on your proximity to DC...

OK, end of story. Received my Volli this afternoon. Cleaned, new springs, screws, clip. Replaced the warped blade, sharpened and with perfect bevels and centered. My 2013 Christmas present to myself was this knife and it's home to stay. Quality QC on this end as done every time I've sent something up for repair. Thanks Benchmade.

Man, I'm holding the Griptilian right now. Really thinking twice about sending this one back. It's a great blade.

You really need to put it in your pocket, and carry it for awhile. I would bet after a month or so of using it, you will never want to be without one.

That's always good to hear. Now if they could go back to shipping them out of the factory that way:D
