Made a purchase on 11/18 from a gold member w/ almost 50:thumbsup: reviews. Member since 2008. Said it would be shipped on 11/19 or 11/20. 11/23 sent a PM and email asking if it had been launched. No reply. K it was Tday. 11/24 again reached out no reply. Today 11/26 reached out again still no reply. His profile page shows he was on site last night. I am always polite, please, thank you etc. I wouldn't mind waiting if there was CONTACT but being froze out is bad form. Idid use PPGS just ... dammit do not like being put in a position to pull the trigger on someone's reputation.
How much more patience should be granted?
Thank you for listening .

Did you send him an email or has it been PM only ?
You've got time to file a claim, so that's not an issue. I'd say if he hasn't responded by the end of this week, then maybe start to get worried. He may have traveled for the holidays or caught a nasty bug. Sometimes life happens and even though the communication is poor, it's too early to panic just now.

I would be out of patience. Let's just say the item was shipped on the 20th and not the 19th. He should have let you know at least by the 21st. Personally, I would have given you info on the 20th because who knows, the next day is Thanksgiving & you might have a lot to do before then. The fact that you have initiated contact three times without reply is no good. On top of that, you see that he's been on Blade Forums. I mean, if you got the time to peruse BF, you should have the time to provide buyer with the shipping info.

Not the panicky type. But have sent identical emails and PMs each time. My hope is it just shows up and all is good. Just concerned they can log on to site and browse but not reply with tracking. Thank you for your input. Patience is a virtue.....today.:D

I completely understand that "life happens", BUT none of that got in the way of seller looking at BF last night. @Khanvoy44 used PPGS, so making a claim isn't a problem, but he doesn't need the f%@^#&g stress of dealing with BS. No one does.

91bravo 91bravo you were the last one to leave a good review with him. Plus a 10 year member. I will take a deep breath and give it a couple of days.

I have been here and I know it is annoying, but you might as be patient. He will either contact you or he won't . The knife will either be sent or it won't. If after a reasonable time you are not contacted and satisfied or receive the knife, then you move on to a PP claim. Not much else you can do now. He very likely will come through in the end.

The integrity bar is set fairly low here. The shipping date has been missed by 1 week. Name the seller and get a refund while you can.

Perhaps a bit off topic but you might consider registering for an "Informed Delivery" account with USPS. It will let you know if you have a package in transit to your address whether the shipper notified you or not.

Tracking number and the location the package was shipped from is provided by USPS so if you know the shipper's location, you'll know what that package is and you can track it.

It also lists all of your USPS packages on the same page which makes tracking much easier if you happen to have more than one package in transit at the same time.

The only downside is that it records ALL packages in transit to your address. If your wife, kids, or anybody in your household has a package in transit, you'll know about it.

Just something to consider in the future.

I'm pretty patient but if a seller hasn't shipped the by the day after you paid ... unless they contact you to make different arrangements or at least explain reasoning ... especially if they have been active on the forum ...

sorry but I would have an issue and request either a reply with explaination or I'd start to get a refund ... that's just poor ediquite and disrespectful to a buyer.

If there were legitimate reason the buyer shouldn't be able to be online surfing the forum if they can't stay in contact with a buyer.

I believe seller user name is in post 8
He is not pressed to file a claim. I believe PP gives you 180 days to do it in. I certainly wouldn't wait anywhere remotely near that. Even allowing for the holiday, time is running out on the seller and a claim may need to be filed to get his attention. I think I would file by the end of the week if I didn't hear or receive by then-and that is being very generous due to a holiday.
Just so I am not misinterpreted-It is very poor behavior on the sellers part and I am not defending his actions in any way. He should have communicated any delays. I recently had someone take my money and go on vacation without any mention at all.

For me, personally, not necessarily advice, at this point the seller would be getting negative feedback (if the deal went through, if not they would get named in this thread or a new GB&U thread started). Going this long without communication is totally unacceptable. That said, with Paypal protection if it was a knife I wanted and what I felt was a good deal I might stick it out for another week or so. That's totally just me, though.

I agree with the consensus in this thread. After 9 days, a GBU thread is warranted. It’s probably premature to sharpen pitchforks (life issues happen), but going dark after a sale should require some explaining.

Yeppers. Sent me a tracking #. I emailed a link to this thread earlier as motivation. There was also a member who bought the other blade in thread that was having the same problem. A.S. A.S.
Hoping everything has been worked out. It is a shame things have to go this way. Still not comfortable until my paws are gripping the blade though.

Well put. I am the other buyer in this transaction. I am totally patient to people’s circumstances, but communication has to be key. Still have faith in the community, but this experience has left me a bit gun shy.
