Berk is in the hospital and needs some prayers.

That big fat stick of incense lasted a long time yesterday so I times the one today. 4 hours and a couple minutes.

Bill, did you get Berk's mailing address when he called? Does Berk have a laptop to keep up with the forum? Anyone in the area to print off the daily well wishes and take them by ever so often?

Hold on Berk, I just found that 1 1/2" by 3' strp of rawhide! Where do I send it to you at? Yvsa, what are some old NDN tricks to do with it. Besides wrapping the testicles with it wet and letting it dry?

Any word on how Berk is doing? I hope he is doing better today. Prayers still going out.

Berk,
May God lay His hand of protection on you in this time of need. He is truly the Ultimate doctor, he has the power and might to do anything. I will pray for wisdom for the doctors, as well as the Lord's will to be done for you, and pray that your recovery will be quick and full. I appreciate your input on the forum, and look forward to "hearing" from you again.

Sincerely, in Him,

Rob

I'll send Berk an email and try to find out how he's doing. I think his wife is trying to deliver the messages to him.

I got a reply and here it is:

UNCLE, HAVE GRADUATED TO A DIET OF LIQUIDS (SOUPS, PUDDINGS, ICE CREAM, ETC) SUPPLEMENTED BY IV DEXTROSE. THERE IS ACTUALLY SOME TALK I MAY BE ABLE TO GO HOME IF CONDITIONS CONTINUE TO IMPROVE. PLENTY TO BE THANKFUL FOR AROUND HERE, YOU BETCHA.
HAVE NOT HAD ANY ACCESS TO THE FORUM, BUT CAN FEEL THE BENEFICIAL EFFECTS OF SMOKE AND PRAYERS. THANKS TO ALL. HOPE TO BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE DIRECTLY SOON, BUT FOR NOW AM INDEBTED TO MY BRIDE FOR SENDING THIS.
BERK

PS BERK HAD A REALLY GOOD WEEKEND, WALKED THE HALLS LIKE A TROOPER, SLUR-PED 3 MEALS PRETTY WELL, WATCHED THE COWBOYS LOOSE. DR SAYS HE "MAY BE GOING HOME IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS". STAY TUNED - DB

Great news.

Prayers work!

Thanks, all.

Glad to hear that Berk is doing so much better. Prayers still going out.

Berk, we miss you. Get well and good luck.

Heber Ellsworth

....is one where they (A) let you go home, and (B) keep enough money to buy Khuks :D Get outta there, Berk, and many thanks to your bride for keeping us informed.

I've been instructed to send Berk a "get well" kagas katne -- this from a pal of his who also lives in Austin. There's something about Texans......

I think we may be seeing Berk stick his nose in here in the not too distant future -- and I'll be happy about that.

That would be great. :) Do you know how he is doing today?

Uncle and fellow forumites,
Thank you all from the very bottom of my heart (yes, lawyers have hearts - they are just atrophied:)) for all of the prayers, smoke, good wishes and kind words. The proof of their effectiveness is in the fact that I am here at the computer again typing these words of thanks. I was blessed with a wonderful medical team - surgeon and infectious disease specialist, plus some great nurses,x-ray techs, and many others - who managed to save me from my best attempt at self destruction by ignoring a ruptured appendix for over a week before seeking medical attention. (They assume it was a ruptured appendix - the surgeon said the pathologists were unble to find any tissue they could identify as an appendix, but since I had never had it removed and no longer had one, assumed that it was consumed somewhere in the boiling cauldron of infection I laughingly called my guts when I was admitted, and which took 2 surgeries to clean out.) No doubt that's lots more than anyone wanted to know about my medical condition, but I feel constrained to abide by the time-honored tradition of boring all my friends who weren't able to listen to me whine and snivel while the suffering was going on;).
Again, you all don't know how much it means to have the support and friendship of such a wondereful group at a time like this. Dorothy and I are grateful to you all. May you and yours have a truly blessed holiday.
Berk (who has more than most people to be thankful for)

Wonderful to see you post in good spirits, and great to learn that there are at least a few medicos still about who are worthy of respect (and that you happened to get them) - those of us who have been there don't even mind the :barf: details.....but if you try to post pics of your stitches........

Did you loan them a khukuri for the surgery?

Good to have you back. Nobody can find anything around here except you.

Glad to have you back Berk :):):), you have been missed.

Heber Ellsworth

:D
At least they didn't cut your water off and take your meter out.;)

Good to have you back!:)
