Here are some of my Busse and family little knives. They're all made with their tweaked 52100 steel, SR-101.
From top to bottom is the Active Duty BG, Anniversary Mean Street BG, Scrapyard Skinner, Mean Street Ergo BG, and Mini MUK BG.
I really like their SR-101, I don't usually bite on the more expensive INFI options because I don't see the up side. Maybe in big choppers but I haven't dived that far in.
The Active Duty is really comfortable if a bit short on handle but it's a bit thicker blade steel than I'd like. I sharpened them all to 20dps and this one has an obscenely wide edge bevel because of the blade thickness.
The Anniversary Mean Street has a thinner slicier blade but the handle is also thinner. It's good to use but after a while my hand cramps up, my fingers overlap my palm with it.
The SYKCO Skinner is ironically the star of the group for me. Mostly because I think I paid like $70 for it and it is comfortable as hell. It's only downside is it's built for a pretty specific use and I haven't had a chance to skin anybody for a couple years.
The bottom two are my favorite. The Ergo handle locks my mitt in wonderfully, it feels like it was cast from a mold of my hand. If I can manage to find another of this group, the War Train Handcar(what's in a name?) I'll be a happy camper.
The Skinner and AD took a shit ton of metal removal to get a 20 dps edge but the others were pretty easy. I used my KME and they all will shave easily but I think I want to see about getting some Chosera stones and kangaroo strops for it. This edge will cut anything I need but we aren't about 'good enough' here are we?
