Best $25-$30 knife for edc?

Spyderco's value folder....Ambitious, Persistence, Tenacious, Resilience....which is China made. If you want Taiwanese made is the Ontario Rat 1.

The 3 i have that i like in that price range are:

Enlan el01 (massively overbuilt cheap flipper knife)
Kershaw Asset (very cool scimitar blade pattern and assisted)
Lightning OTF ( DA switchbalde)

Is it possible to avoid blisters when using handles like these for real work?

Not sure, what kind of work are you talking about. The black scales are a lot more aggressive, gloves would be a good idea due to the texture if you are really working the knife but they are more comfortable then they look.

Kershaw cryo 2, volt ss or thermite. Cryo 2 and thermite are Rick Hinderer designs, volt ss is designed by RJ Martin. All are awesome for the money.

Kershaw Crown is a really good one. Heck, you can buy two of them. I carried one for a good year. Holds a good edge, the clip just snagged on everything (for me) and eventually broke off. It doesn't get carried to much now, but I will be picking up another one unless I can find/make a clip to fit.

Kershaw Cryo. Great size for edc purposes. Solid lock-up, nice heft, steel is easy to sharpen. The framelock design just inspires a bit more confidence.

I recently picked up a a Kershaw injection 3.0 and its a decent knife for $32 shipped.

I would also echo the Tenacious or perhaps the slightly smaller Persistence - from Spyderco's value line. I like Kershaws for value as well - and found the OSO Sweet to be a perfectly good EDC (after adding a bit of Jimping on the back side with a dremel).

I also like the Cryo as well. Unfortunately, just got a Cryo 2, and stripped 2 T-6 bits trying to switch it to "Tip-Up".

Out of knives that I own? The Cold Steel Super Edge!

I paid $16 for mine, BNIB. It's a tiny fixed blade for your key chain. It's extremely handy, offers a great kray-ex grip, and the fully serrated edge makes it a great supplement to a PE knife. Keep it sharp, take care of it, and it'll take care of you. Because it's so tiny, it's seen as "cute" and non-threatening. I know, because I've used mine in an office setting, and nobody batted an eye.

Oh, and it's made in Japan, which I think is superb value at the price point.

EDIT: My mistake, I overlooked when you read that you're specifically looking for a folder. Still, I'll leave this here.

Another vote for Spyderco Tenacious! (Or any of the 'value' Spydies: ambitious, resilience, etc. Pick the size that suits you best... have fun.)
