best all around knife company?????????

I own more Benchmades than any other company, because the quality of their product is superb and they have a great deal of designs that appeal to me. I have nothing bad to say about my Kershaws and Spydercos, but there are less designs from those companies that I get excited about.

In terms of service, I continually hear fantastic things about customer service at Kershaw. I think to be a great "total package" company, your after-sales service has to be just as good as your product.

Laguiole, superb finish and was also my first pocket knife, handed down from my grand father.

Victorinox.

Making quality knives since 1890, used by more expeditions to far off places, unlimited lifetime warrentee, can be purchased almost anywhere.

The accesability, and decency of guys like Sal from Spyderco, and Thomas W. from kershaw pretty much make them my favorites. The fact that I'm a true steel junky and both companies are constantly advancing the quality and bringing out new steels for trial helps and shows me that keeping the customer happy is more important than squeezing every nickel.

I don't think it's a fluke that they both have good W&R sections either. Joe

Right now.............Spyderco. I had the opportunity to speak with the kershaw folks on the phone. I was impressed with their genuine kindness for my opinion on their new product at the time, which was the big ken onion folder. I have nothing bad to say about kershaw, I just have more experience with spyderco products. Take care all and God Bless.:D

Kershaw. My dad has a knife of theirs that's over 10 years old. Still as shiny and sturdy as ever. I've never heard anything bad about them. And I have my Kershaw and it's a beautiful knife

I 2nd that:thumbup:

I have only Spyderco Folders, about forty of them.
I never had any interest in the fixed blades. I used to have few BMs and Kershaws, but didn't keep any of them.

Buck. They make a little of everything. In the folder department, the 110 is still the best bang for the Buck, IMHO, (Yes - pun intended!) for that size of knife; if you need something smaller, get a 55. For fixed blades, the 119 is just about perfect in looks, form and function. For the smaller stuff like pocket knives, they got them too.

I like a lot of other brands out there, but Buck is still my favorite.

thx - cpr

I agree. Buck pretty much covers all styles of knives. Tactical, traditional, folding fixed, big, small, Buck makes them.

Best all around knife company.

All around: Produces Fixed blades, folders,Dive knives, neckers, supplies quality sheaths for their fixed blades.

Has a no nonsence all inclusive warranty, no questions asked.

Uses cutting edge steel and designs.

Has a never fail attitude about their knives.

Sounds like Strider and Chris Reeve.

Peace.

Top three for me would be.:D
(Spyderco) because they use newest up and coming blade steels at fair price.
(kershaw) I like speed safe and inivative designs well priced as well.
(emerson) Great designs hands ergo's and wave feature a plus as well.:)

I will go with Buck, for their warranty, selection and quality. That said, I am not overlooking Spyderco or Kershaw either.
