What would you say is your favorite knife? I'm mainly referring to fixed blades on this post. What knife do you take everywhere?- hows that for you folder fellas. If you could go on a outdoors trip, what would be your knife of choice? You know, a knife that can take and do everything. Please, feel free to post pictures. If you are like me and you can't decide on one knife, what team of knives would you take? thanks guys-Josh.

At this point, with my limited collection, a Becker BK7. Big enough to chop, small enough to do smaller chores, and strong enough to be a pry bar.

This question is just SO wrong ! LOL. Depends on what i am going to do with it. There is a STRONG possability though, that it will be Made in America, be either 1095 Cro-Van steel or high carbon 1095. Either a Becker or an OKC "Spec-Plus" series of the 1/4" thick variety or my OKC Ranger signature Series RD-6 (3/8" thick).

Well, lets say you are going to do food prep, make a campfire, possibly skin a animal, make a shelter, kill a lion, cut down trees, shave, just everything and keep a good edge the whole time. I would say that a 5-8 in. blade would be the limits for me. There are lots of good knives in that category.

Because of the "kill a lion" thing I can't go with the Mora 780. Therefore, Becker BK7 paired up with a Mora 780.;)

The best knife for me, the one that has left me no desire to buy anymore fixed blades is a 5.5" Randall #18.

My favorite? It's got to be the mighty BK2.

For fixed blade knives on outdoor trips, I usually take a Mora with me. Currently my Mora 2000 is first choice.

I'm actually quite fond of my D2 Rat-7. It works well for me. Fits my hand well, good balance for me, couldn't ask for a better design. Full tang, slab handles, full flat grind, 7" blade, 0.186" thick, useful choil, decent thumb serrations. Works well with an Estwing hatchet and whatever I've got in my pocket, usually a Spyderco Endura. All of which are reasonably priced. I have some other knives that are more robust, but the Rat-7 is the best fit for simple tasks.

For camping, I think my Dozier Buffalo River Hunter would do fine. Seems like it was made for camping anyways:thumbup:. Wouldn't do any chopping with it, that's what an axe/machete is for.

It's the Fallkniven F1 for me.With a Spyderco Caly 3.5 folder in my pocket as usual.

those are all good knives.. i like the mora blades!!!!!!
