Who do you feel makes the best production assisted openers? I have a Kershaw Blur, and was impressed by the speed safe system. I've been eyeing the Camillus Dominator, and would like to know what people think of their ROBO system. What other companies make good assisted openers?

I have a Scallion and Twitch 2 that I am very pleased with. I think assisted openers are better with smaller blades. I've never handled a larger assisted opener.

I have a Camillus Aftermath and it is both BIG & FAST but it's not something you want to display to your local LEOs...:>(

Two Dominators, an Aftermath, and two Leeks for me.

I love the Robos. If money's a factor the little Kershaws are good.

Several people have posted spring breakages with Kershaws, no big deal, Kershaw has superb customer service for replacement springs.

Haven't heard of any Robo spring bar problems yet.

I have two Ken Onion Kershaws, can't keep the vegetable names straight, but of the three, mine are the middle and the large size. Never had a problem with either and I think that they are a good value.

I have a couple dominators and several heats... well Had several heats- I keep giving them away to friends. I have one I have been using hard for over a year and like really well... heck of a knife for the price!

I've carried a Kershaw Whirlwind for about 4 years now as my EDC and can't complain. That sucker has done alot of work. The speed safe or lock have never failed me.

I would buy another if I needed to.

Camillus makes an affordable version of their Dominator Robo series called the 'Heat'. It is made of nylon, and stainless. The blade is Aus 8. I use this blade more often than my Lonewolf because it chips less often and is easier to carry. Mine has been through hell, even has acid etched on it from car batteries, and the assist keeps working and the lockup works well. The blade doesn't chip, is easy to sharpen, and holds it relatively well. The cost? About $45 street.

Among mine I have a Kershaw Leek and a Bump. The Leek is fast, fun, and a sharp little bugger....slim and sleek for classy EDC and a great deal at the $37 I paid. The Bump is a very versatile, smooth, and solid production folder. I alternate the Bump and a 635 Mini Skirmish...

another vote for the Camillus ROBO series. i have the Aftermath, Dominator, Heat, and Sizzler. all work very well. best bang for the buck is the Heat though... opens fast and positive, and the steel is decent. i also have some Kershaw and SOG assisted knives, but they just don't seem as sturdy.

Here's another vote for the Heat. On top of being assisted opener (which isn't really a big deal for me), it's a big knife for its size and built like a tank.

Agree: Camillus Dominator. Beautifully made with the best materials.

My son has a Heat and for the money it's very good.

I'm big on the Kershaw's. I own them all. I also like the heat, sizzle and just got the blaze. Then I bought Benchmade's Appartition, it just blew me away. Super quick and real pleasent to the eye.(i didn't want to say pretty)

I really like the Kershaws but after trying a Benchmade Apparition I was surprised at the quickness and springyness of it's torsion bar. If I were buying one tomorrow, I'd get the Apparition.

The average Torsion bar will last a long time - if it breaks early on, under moderate use, it's just a bad heat treat. Kershaw are indeed very good about replacing such things.

Well, my vote is for SOG again. I have the Twitch I and it is fantastic. You can get the neatness of the spring assist with the reliability of a lock-back. Then their larger assisted knives, while not the nicest, can take an incredible beating.
Kershaw certainly has the widest line of assisted openers.
The action on the few Bucks I've handled were very nice, but I can't say I'm wild about the designs. A large, pointy safety just behind the flipper can be painful when actually using the knife.
I still love my SOG, though. Takes a licken, and keeps on cutting s~~~.

I'd vote for the Bump, it's a sexy beast. I very much prefer a flipper on an assisted opener.

I don't think I'll be much help here. I ethier own or have handled all of the ones mentioned in this thread and I like them all.
Timberline makes one that I'm not too impressed with. I forget the model name, but I think it's the only assisted open knife Timeberline makes.
