best bang for your buck

Here are my favorite inexpensive, (but certainly not cheap), knives:

Any Fallkniven. Tough as they come and well under $100 each for almost every example.

Frosts of Sweden. Six serviceable glove/toolbox knives for under $80.00

Ka-Bar Original USMC Fighting knife. No need to elaborate.

The Buck 110. Ditto.

The Gerber Gator Lockback. Decent lockback for about $35.00. No tactical scare'um factors.

The Victoronix SAK Champion. A lot of usable tools for not a lot of money. Great tackle box knife.

BM Ascent.

Leatherman WAVE. Most comfortable multitool that about $60 can buy. Not inexpensive, but a value nonetheless.

Well you asked for it:

*Duct tape- duh.
*para cord
*tuf-cloth
*lube 1 by slick50 (try it)
*CRKT Stiff KISS - Ed Halligan design, it's too small for a tanto style, and the wharncliffe is too small period.
*Spyderco clipit line
*Ruger (Red Label line, Mark II, 10/22)
*Benchmade (need I elaborate?)
*Cold Steel (See above)
*rubber bands
*SUPER GLUE!!!!
*SureFire Tactical lights
*Photon II lights
*ASP airweight batons (YES!)
*C-4 (Hey, there are NO problems that cannot be solved by the proper application of high explosives

)
*Paper matches (they're free, you can use them as an antacid, they're free....)
*spare handcuff keys (they're cheap, and you never know when you might need one, I treat 'em like american express cards-never leave home without one.)

ALRIGHT!!!! damn, had to stop myself before I gave away all of my tricks.

Joe,

I take it that you need the spare handcuff keys after using the paper matches for antacid?

Using paper matches as antacid is a new one on me.

I'm also a big fan of Helle. My favorite knife from Helle is the tiny "Polar". It's only about $30 and works great. Another benefit is that you can easily customize it yourself.

I'd have to say that Bob Dozier's knives represent the best bang for the buck I've yet seen in knives. Excellent workmanship... the best grinds you'll find anywhere... excellent materials... superb sheaths... my only complaint is not being able to afford one of each!

I certainly won't disagree with a lot of the choices posted above but I think there is an area being somewhat overlooked. The knives Bob Dozier makes are in the neighborhood I'm alluding to. Too many of us spend too much on too many good albiet mass produced knives. Our tastes mature and we wish we had been a little more selective and obtained a semi-custom or custom knife instead.

Well, as many of you know I feel Talonite (r) is absolutely outstanding. Yes it's expensive when used in a custom knife. But now that Rob Simonich is offering "semi-custom" Talonite knives, the price point to acquire a fantastic Talonite blade has moved to within reach of a heck of a lot more folks. $200 for a Cetan Signature Series from my knothole offers a LOT of bank for the buck. Darned worth checking out!!!!

Ontario Bagwells. For $200-300, depending which model, you get a knife that feels and performs close to the Custom Bill Bagwell Hell's Belles, which are around $1000. Great bang for the buck in a fighting Bowie!!!
