Checked the Camp with mine this morning.... Perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Already stuck the Ontario into the BK Camp sheath! It was a old backup camping knife anyway Great idea upnorth!!!!!!:thumbup:

Actually I saw that idea from a mod here name onion or somesuch. :)

My set up
A BK 4 for chopping, splitting and heavy work with a BK 14/24 with the handles for a belt knife for small motor work

BK 4

The BK 4 chops as good as a hatchet

Batons knotty pine with ease

The front of the blade is narrow for very fine work

I have never really put much consideration into this tool. Maybe those great pictures helped, thanks.

Since the OP said Becker rather than Beckers, and since be specified EDC in rough terrain rather than in town, I'd go with the BK-10.

Ah ha your on to me now lol

If you feel like the 15 has limitations for what you want, then the 16 probably won't satisfy you (unless batoning is your only limitation for the 15). So get the 2. The 2 will do everything. If you don't mind the weight, then grab one. And owning both the 2 and the 15 will cover every conceivable need you might have.

Unless said need is the need to own a 9. :)

Oh, one more thing. You mentioned using a fire steel. Becker spines aren't 90-degrees, so you'll have to grind it a bit. But I've heard that some use the choil on the 2.

The 15 is great. I like the looks of it, it performs well other than chopping and batoning. That's where my bk9 comes in. Right now I belt carry my 15 while my 9 is strapped to my pack. Was hoping to bridge the gap and just have a belt knife with a very lite backup mora in the pack.I realize I can leave the 15 at home and belt carry the 9 but it does seem a bit large. So the BK2 it is! Thanks

I guess my real question is will the bk2 fit the bill for the do all camp knife/survival knife.(chop, baton, strike a firesteel, carve, feather stick, filet fish, skin small game exc.) or would a 16 do a better job of all this?

I've done all that with my BK2 and it works just fine. BK2 will work (imo) better than the BK16 for chopping and batoning. They should be about equal for striking firesteels and carving, and I'd give the edge (so to speak) to the BK16 for the rest of it. Get whichever one appeals most to you and learn to make the most of it. Then get the other one too because, hey - more Becker knives.

After my latest camp trip off of yellow river. I have discovered the bk9 is not all that practical for this type of adventure. I mean maybe if I hadn't brought my silky saw I would have found more use for it. I also noticed the weight. That being said my thought would be that the bk2 would share some of the same traits as the bk9. Further more I've decided on the bk16 as a main camp knife/survival knife!

My current set up is a 9 and 16 combo for my bushcraft type stuff, and honestly I can't think of a single thing the pair couldn't accomplish....

however, if I HAD to choose just ONE BK knife for EVERYTHING coming, known or unknown ....... BK12
