Best 'Buck 110' Movie?

Started watching Longmire a few days ago. So far, the 110 has been used in almost every episode. If you subscribe to Netflix, there is a very clear shot of it in Season 1, Episode 6 starting at 5:33. Interestingly, Walt's 110 is older. It has a square frame and a chipped edge. Very enjoyable series!

I don't know about every episode but the knife from the scene when he rolls the Bronco is clearly not a Buck 110.

Yep, I noticed that too in the first episode, but the knife in Episode 6 clearly has a square frame, three brass rivets and a stainless rocker pin. No doubt it's a 110. I tried to post a screen shot, but failed. As you pause it frame by frame, the close up shot of the knife is so clear, you can even see a significant chip in the edge in front of the plunge line.

Pretty sure that in the movie "Serpico", one of the cops in serpicos new station pulls a buck 110 on him.

Wyoming99,

I tried to send a PM but had no luck. Do you live in Wyoming?

Bert

No, I live in Texas. I used to hunt up in Wyoming (5 or 6 times). I always used my Savage 99 300 Savage so thats where I got Wyoming99. Thanks, TG.

Last night, I started Longmire Season 2. Apparently, Henry Standing Bear's knife of choice is a Buck as well. When preparing to search for Longmire in the mountains, he holds up a 119 or 120 before sheathing it and heading out. These guys know their knives.

I just seen an extra squirrelly episode of "Northern Exposure" were a guy was using a Buck 500 or the best Buck 500 knock off I've ever seen!

Amici,
Depending on how old you are, in 1980 there was a movie called "Ruckus" which starred Dirk Benedict of Battlestar Galactica fame as well as Linda Blair as the potential love interest..

Anyhoo's the story line is about a shell shocked Vietnam vet who somehow winds up in a rural Alabama town where after a series of run ins with some local police as well as some good ol' boys proceeds to take them all on using his skills as a former Green Beret.

Sounds familiar anyone? Before you say "yes!" this movie came out 2 years before our Jimmy Lile toting friend did regarding his war with the locals..

In Ruckus, the character uses a Buck 110 for everything you can imagine.. I remember seeing this as a kid and was awestruck that the 110 could do any of the things portrayed in the flick..

It's outta print, but you can find it via Amazon for about $50.00 burned to dvd. Possibly cheaper if you search long enough..

Cheers,
Serge

That rattled the deep dark recesses of my memory. That movie came on HBO about the time my parents got it. I was probably 12 or 13 and thought that movie was awesome. Being 13 I thought Linda Blair was pretty easy to look at too.

I don't remember much about the movie or the 110 but if it ever comes 'round again I'll have to watch it.

I seen that "Rukus" one time. I would never remember that movie again I guess if it wasn't for this post!

May be somebody lenthenend the blade with photoshop to make it more impressing. ;)

Haebbie

One little problem - No photoshop in 1980. Didn't even have any "good" PCs.

The Tandy/Radio Shack TRS-80 Models 1 at around $1600 was the top banana for a personal computer.
4K of RAM, I/O was an audio cassette tape, printer was a 12 pin dot matrix.
The 16K expansion interface, which only added 12K of RAM, was another $600.

I did use my 110 to open the boxes when I got it though. :D:D
