Ya' know, I think BladeForums should give an award of some kind each year for best CS, or just for knife makers that REALLY care about their products and customers! These are the people I'd nominate:

Thomas from Kershaw (Kershaw has given me, personally, the best CS I've ever had-a replacement safety lock for my Random leek in under a week, free of charge)

Sal from Spyderco (is there another big cutlery owner that is more responsive and enthusiastic about customer input about their products????)

Peter from Fallkniven (may not be well represented on BF, but he is always helpful and will do his best to help out Fallkniven knife owners)

The whole Busse/Swamprat/Scrapyard clan (I don't own any of their knives...YET...but have been an admirer for years, and from what I've read, they go above and beyond for their customers)

KaBar Knives (I'm not sure who took care of me, but I e-mailed them when one of the screws on my brand new TDI LE sheath was stripped, and I had an entire set of new screws within 2 weeks, free of any charges)

Am I missing anyone? What would your suggestions be?

Good idea - - also it would be great if there was a list of high customer rated retailers (especially those with online stores since we gotta do so much knife shopping outside our local areas). Would be very helpful to the consumer in addition to the manufacturers.

i have not dealt with him personally but i hear the best things about Justin at Ranger Knives

Don't forget Yangdu Martino!!!

Her and Justin are great to deal with.

For production knives, the people at NewGraham earned my loyalty. Ok, they don't MAKE knives, but their CS is great.

I've only ever had to use one customer service and that was Kershaw. The assisted opening mechanism had become weak on my Scallion 1620 They sent me a new one ASAP.

I totally forgot Justin Gingrich!!!! I've actually discussed tomahawks with him, and he's a great guy, and very helpful!

From my personal experience, Yangdu at HI:thumbup: If you aren't happy, she's not happy.

I would add Mike Stewart of Bark River Knives. They make a heck of a knife and will go the extra mile to assure you're happy with their product.

As far as internet retailers go - I've had nothing but positive experiences with both New Graham and Knifeworks.com.

If I had to pick one person, then Amy at Busse.

As a company? Pick any one from the Busse family... Scrap Yard, Swamp Rat and Busse Combat. They all set the bar out of reach!

Buck is rated consistently top of the class when it comes to customer service. I have reviewed some of their knives for magazine articles, and found the Buck family to be a delight to deal with.

I'll pile on with kudos for Dan and Patti at Scrapyard. Eric at the Swamp has done good by me too.

in no particular order...:

Dan & Patti Busse @ Scrap Yard Knife Co.

Kathy @ Busse Combat

Yangdu Martino @ Himalayan Imports

Eric Isaacson @ Swamp Rat Knife Works

Sal Glesser @ Spyderco

I have had nothing but GREAT response from Chris Reeve knives. Fast and friendly. CRK really cares about the product they sell. I'll give a second nod for the people at Newgraham.com

Sal Glesser is a given.

Yangdu @ Himalayan Imports

Justin @ Ranger Knives

Dan @ Scrapyard Knives

Mike @ Bark River Knife and Tool
