Best DA/SA pistol

I'd like to give a +1 for the Sig P220. I've never had any problems with the trigger on mine at all. I don't use it for IPSC or IDPA, I just use it for putting big holes in things, exactly where I want them. The P220 does that very well. I don't see much reason for shooting super fast strings with full-power .45ACP- unless you're a Terminator whose arms don't move with recoil. The big Sig is well made, accurate, and has great ergos. It's not a small gun, nor a light one, but it points well, and is very comfortable to shoot.

I've owned HK, USP and Sig P220 and shot them extensively. Both are excellent quality handguns but I like the Sig better. The Sig's trigger was never a problem and accuracy was superior. Disassembly/assembly, for cleaning was simple enough to do in the dark. The single stack Sig is also flatter than the USP.

when i was working on my masters in CJ i got to know a couple of Tx Rangers (LEO's not baseball players lol) and they both carried and loved SIG P220's, and as they told me "i can carry anything 9MM or larger i can qualify with & i chooese to carry a P220" FWIW.

they are great pistols no doubt, probably my fav carry .45 even over a 1911 (close call though).

I've never had any problems with my Israeli Military Industries (now named Israeli Weapons Industry) Baby Eagle in .40

If you think the SIG trigger is rough, try a HK VP70Z. They had the worst triggers I ever saw. The SIG P220 is very nice, if you're right-handed.

I hear what you're saying ! It had the funkiest "shadow sights" I've ever seen, too.

But it was a Double Action Only mechanism.........and the only gun with a worse DA pull was the abomination called the "C.O.P." that 4-barreled .357 "derringer" POS. (later made in .22, but I've never seen one of those)

.

I just returned from shooting my SIG P220 along with my Les Baer. Both in .45.
The SIG is my favorite DA/SA in any caliber and it shoots nearly as well as my custom .45's. HK makes a great gun as well. Get the one that feels the best to you.
