If you like but cant get an Izula, you might also like the Becker BK14. The handle is nearly identical and the blade is (IMO) shaped a bit better. Not sure if this knife is exactly what you're looking for but here's a picture of mine (my BK14, that is) ...

I believe you also mentioned jimping. I'm sure there are good threads elsewhere as well, but I recall seeing a few in the Becker subforum - you might have a look there. One of these days I might give it a try as well.

I just got a boker plus mosier. it's a nice knife.

Becker BK-14 has a larger blade than the Izula. Both are good quality. I have the 14 only and love it. If you have big hands it feels on the smallish side. It still packs that nice blade though.

Izula for sure. Or Izula II if you have large hands.

i would go with an ansa, or grayman if you can get your hands on it.

I just got one of those Boker plus Mosiers as well. It is a very nice knife and has a better sheath than the Beckers.

I'm really digging my A.G. Russell Woodswalker currently. Also the Swamprat Swamp Warden is an excellent smaller fixed blade as is the ESEE Izula.
