Best folder to accidentally drop in sand?

Pretty much any of them.
Recovery method follows:
Cuss. Pick up the knife. Blow the dust off. Rinse out the rest with water. Carry on.

Sage 5 would be my top choice, even over a PM2. The Sage 5 has all T8s and is really easy to strip down and put back together. Even easier than a PM2. Manix2 XL is much more of a hassle than a Sage5.
 
I grew up on a farm and ranch a dry dusty environment. I learned that cleaning dirt and sand out of my pocket knife and other tools that it’s just a thing you deal with just like needing to use the restroom. It may not be convenient to stop and take care of your business but it’s better than craping or wetting your pants. 😆 sometimes it’s just a tap or two on a chunk of wood or slapping it against my leg while other times it was a dunk in the water tank to get it working properly. Any time you have moving parts there’s a high possibility that sand , dust or whatever you’re around is going to get in amongst those parts and fowl it up. Just don’t let your brother try to clean it or you might regret it . 😆 mine came back smelling like manure. 😆
 
Most of my folder-uppers are Tri-Ad locks. Those seem pretty environmentally robust. That said, a big wad of pocket lint did stop one of them from locking when the lint caught between the stop pin and the portion of the blade that was supposed to snuggle up to it.
