Best folder under $200

I would go with the BM 810, BM Rift, Spyderdo Manix 2 lightweight in S110v or the Spyderxo GB. I ordered the BM 810, Spyderco manix lightweight and the Cold steel Code 4 today. I think all of those are great knives.

Aside from the 0562cf, which would be a top choice, the Dimitri Sinkevich 0452cf would be awesome too, IMO (surprised I haven't seen anyone mention it yet). I've noticed a few nib ones for right at $200 this week...

Tons of great suggestions everyone!! I'm leaning toward the zt 0452cf and zt 0562cf right now.

Btw if any of you are Leo or fire you need to sign up for promotive. They have them for $160 and $180 respectively.

The only benchmade that intrigues me is the 940-1 and it's too expensive. I don't like the green scales of the 940 or I would jump on that.

How about the Knifeworks exclusive 940-1501 with a black and blue G10 handle and a CPM-20CV (Crucible's version of M390) blade for $199.95?

As for the 0562CF, Rick Hinderer was an EMT and firefighter before becoming a knife maker.

I like zt not my fav for EDC honestly. For $200 or less grab a Para2 and a Dragonfly Salt. BOOM done

Such an impossible question to answer. I mean, just look at all the various responses already.

If you like the 940-1, have you checked out the Knifeworks Excluseive 940-1501? It's just at your $200 mark, it's got a steel that should be easier to sharpen but actually serve you a little better than S90V, and it's in a rad black/blue G10 combo. http://www.knifeworks.com/Benchmade...VStainlessSteelBlackandBlue.aspx#.Vr9Iz5MrLdQ

Just ask Knifeworks to pick you one with a centered blade with even grind and no play. They'll be happy to do it.

another vote for zt0801.

For those suggesting zt0562cf NEW at $200, where do you find it?

On knifecenter you can preorder an s110v paramilitary 2 and a hap40 dragonfly 2 for $218, leaps and bounds better than spending the whole $200 on some tacticool zt or something (no offense, just IMO)

That's a Gemini.

I wish I could get a mantra 2 for sub 200.
A lot of good suggestions in this thread though.

Yep, a solid little knife. So far it hasn't kick my Mantra 2 out of my pocket.

By calling ZT knives "taticool" you're dismissing them as style pieces and implying they aren't useful: That is an offensive way of stating your opinion.

I also firmly disagree with your assessment. The ZT0562 is just as thin behind the edge as a Para 2, yet the 0562 has a much stronger tip and much more belly. Those attributes make the 0562 much more practically useful than the Para 2.

It's all personal. The 0562 is very well built, but the ergos are all wrong for me. I'm currently waiting to either trade mine for something that fits my hand better or I may just sell it and put the funds towards a Benchmade Crooked River when that comes out.

That is nice to hear. I was eyeing a kizer splinter for some time, but I am kind of worried about the carbidized lock face as it does not have the steel insert. Although this is not due to any negative experience on my part.

The Gemini looks really great though.

While the ZT0452 may be a good EDC it can not be considered a gentleman's folder. It is a very large knife with an aggressive look. For a gentleman's folder in the ZT line you might consider the ZT0770CF. At $180 it is well within your price point new. I got a 0452 last week from a member for $200 LNIB. It will be my EDC for work. My ZT0770CFM390 is my folder when I go out for an evening. The 0770 is very light and pocket friendly. I could be considered a ZT fan.
