Best Folder under $200

Huh no one mentioned the bradly alias or the buck/mayo TNT. Those are two great I ex I can suggest.

:confused::confused:

i have no idea what this post means, but since it appears to be a quote of my post.....

if you can find a 12, it will be in the $270-$290 range.

I was attempting to point out that your statement: "just about every emerson model is under $200" is well... nonfactual.

Step 1: Go to the Emerson website
Step 2: Notice that for every knife under $200 dollars there is approximately 1.5 other knives well over $200. Before S&H mind you. (excluding the Titanium La Griffe, trainers, left handed versions, and CQC-T)
Step 3: Curse the heavens

step 1: never pay msrp unless there is no other option.

here endeth the lesson...

"Best" is such a subjective term. However, if I somehow lost all my folders & had to go get just one & had to spend at the OP's limit of $200, I'd probably choose among these:

Bradley Alias I or II
Buck/Mayo TNT
Spyderco Para Mili in D2 or try to find a CF Mili S90V (If I could find one at that price).
ZT 0300 (If I could find one at that price).

Of the suggestions, I have both the Military and the ZT200. In normal real world use I imagine them to be similarly indestructible. But I'd pick the Military as it's much lighter than the zt200...

Tough question. I'm used to either the $100 limit, which narrows the selection considerably, or the price is no object. With a $200 limit, there are simply too many good options to list.

I think your dead on, as much as I love my ZT knives... for the weight, length, and price the military is pretty hard to beat.

Benchmade Ruckus or Mini-Ruckus.

Hands down the Spyderco Manix along with a user Spyderco Tenacious for tasks you won't let your pretty boy touch! :D

You're right on about the Spyderco Military.

I was going to say that if you don't get the Military, an Emerson Commander or Super CQC-7 would be a close second. I carried Either an Emerson Commander or my Super '7 for a few years, but since I've gotten my Spyderco Military that's all I've been able to wear.
