Best Folder under $200

Benchmade Ruckus or Mini-Ruckus.

Yes, the Rukus in carbon fiber handle is just a joy to hold. I think they don't offer this option any more. Good taste!

Military, hands down for me... I've owned most of the widely discussed knives on any of the forums, and the Military takes the cake... I would recommend the Spyderco Rock Lobster, but there is NO REASON for it to cost as much as it does... Military can be had for $130 and the cheapest you can find the Rock Lobster is $200... there is no real sense of reason here... I think the Rock Lobster is purdier, but that is where it ends... All things considered, there are no upgrades on the Rocklobster over the Military... in fact, I would consider VG10 a downgrade... I love the VG10 on my Delica, but id does not hold a candle to the "Golden" Spydie S30V.

I too have difficulty understanding why the Rock Lobster in VG10 is more expensive than the Military in S30V. Yes, the Rock Lobster is a newer model, but still...

I like the two choices below for a great EDC. Both, the new Buck 347 Vantage Pro and Spyderco Native, are in S30V blade steel. I paid $56 inc s/h to get the top one to my house last month - nicely done G10 scales. The 'Native' will run you $65-$70 inc s/h - and it is a value, for sure. You could get a Buck Custom Shop 110 in basic wood/nickel silver bolsters/S30V and both the Native and Vantage Pro for your $200 or so.

I must throw a Black Bear folder into the mix. You'll have to add $40. more dollars but you will have one of the finest folders on the market, and, it's a custom. Go to their web-site; Black Bear Knives.

or you could get a Griptilian and the Kevin Wilkins replacement handle and backspacer for around $200.

Hands down, the best sub-$200 dollar knife I've ever owned is the Buck/Mayo TNT. Smooth as butter - great ergonomics - titanium framelock - S30V blade - Bos heat treat - only weighs 2.7 oz.

thanks again guys!
I think i'll go with a spydie endura 4 for a lot less than my maximum price.
Awesome choice! Another high point on my value/price list with great size, steel and ergonomics for an unbeatable price.

J-B, K-W is still out of them. My Buck 347 came from a CA dealer that still comes up when you search for 'buck vantage pro' on evil-bay. They had six last month when I ordered mine - one left now. It was higher than most places that listed it - except - they had them in-stock!! Neat knife - well worth the aggravation and cost to get. Poor man's 172 Mayo/TNT - nearly identical blade!

Have a BM Dejavoo in my pocket right now; I am sure there are others but, in the short time I have had the voo I find nothing wrong with it, in fact I am very happy with it.
