Best folding knife as a gift to a girl

Do you really like using pink knives? She will most likely chose one of your knives anyway.

Nah. When my first daughter was born I put everything away. None of my knives are easily accessible so she uses her own since they are stored in a locked drawer of hers. I don't mind the pink. It's kinda refreshing actually considering most of the rest of my collection is all black-tactical and grim.

When my wife was my GF, i gifted her a Benchmade Sequel. Couldnt believe she used it!! And carried it!! She has abused it more than i do my knives. Its going strong still and she loves it. Altho, a couple weeks ago i gifted her a CRK Gabon Ebony Mnandi. She says its too pretty to use and put it in her purse. :) Gotta love her. :)

The "best" folding knife to give to a girl?

The same one you would give a boy at the same age and level of maturity, and with the same intended uses.

A 2 or 3 layer SAK is always a good choice, regardless of the recipient's gender.

I've always thought the best thing to do is ask them what they like, let them try yours out, and get them whatever they like best. Just like you would do for a male friend.

Not all women automatically want small, cute, and pink, or whatever else kind of stereotypes we have for them. My girlfriend likes my axis lock folders, most of which are larger and/or tactical knives.

Here's a top secret pro-tip....I'll probably get in trouble for letting the "general public" know about it....

The best folding knife as a gift to a girl is the same as the best folding knife as a gift to a guy.
The first rule about knife gift club is not to talk about knife gift club.

But anyway the best knife to give a girl is one that will suit her. The best person to know what suits her will be someone who knows her well. If she's totally not into knives and never will be then something like a SAK or small multi tool will have enough day to day usefulness to win her over. If she's a hiker or outdoorsy type then look at a fixed Mora.

Don't go all flowers etc. because if it turns out she doesn't like it and hands it back you'll be using it.

I know, but now I got these folks thinking that the best knife to get a woman is one that is sensibly designed and well built.

We fellas in the the clandestine knife gift club know that all the ladies really want is something pink, sparkly, and maybe frilly. For like cutting ribbons and flowers and sharpening eyebrow pencils. That's the real secret that we are not supposed to talk about. Loose lips sink ships!

:D

mrs marci owns

a Mora Companion (black with blue trim)
a Dave Shirley-era Northwoods Congress in vintage sambar
a Spyderco Warren Thomas Kerambit
a AG Russell Woodswalker

If I bought her a pink knife she'd stab me with it.

GEC in abolone is what she wanted. I was shocked when she asked me to get her one as she is not a knife type person - far from it. She carries a GEC 38 abolone daily.

This is a beautiful knife.

My own wife isn't into knives per se, but she does have several that Ive given her over the years. I am not even sure at the moment what all she owns, but they are mostly Kershaws and a couple of Spydercos.

My wife’s not into knives, but certainly sees the usefulness of having the Pink Classic SAK I got her in her purse. She’s only used it a couple of times but likes knowing it’s there.
She shook her head at me a long time ago when I gave her a little flashlight and made her throw it in her bag. Well one day at work the power went out and she remembered it was there. Next thing everyone is huddled around her and the only source of light for the next hour trying to get the work done. She was the hero for a day and didn’t shake her head when I gave her the SAK.
