Best full tang stainless bowie <$300?

There has to be a full tang Bowie out there, with quality stainless steel, that can be had for under $300. I know people will probably say the Cold Steel Trail Master or Recon Scout in San Mai III. I'm not really a fan of San Mai III. It chips pretty easily. The CPM-3V versions are nice, but they're not truly stainless. I can't throw one in my tailgate and forget about it for a year. It will rust significantly.

It looks Scandi grind. That would be a great stainless steel outdoor blade. I could leave it in my tailgate for emergencies, without worrying about rust.
Put some wicked wax on the blade like I did and your really gtg!

Helle Nord - comes with a nice leather sheath too. (Full Tang 14C28N)

I'm in the same situation as OP and the Nord is on my list, I have three more though, how do they compare? Is the Nord mirror polished?

I've been eyeing that knife myself after getting the Von Temsky bowie. I emailed the maker and he said they were using 8670 steel a lot these days.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with this one. I wish he would put a more contoured handle on it, but it's a beast.

Folks, this thread is titled "Best full tang STAINLESS BOWIE <$300?". I emphasized "stainless" and "Bowie", because there are many great full tang, high carbon Bowie knives, for under $300. There are also many great stainless fixed blades, that aren't really Bowie knives. I think we need some definitions for this discussion:

1) Stainless Steel - this one is obvious, as it's directly in the title.

2) Bowie Knife - a Bowie knife historically has a minimum blade length of 9.25". For the sake of this discussion, I would say any blade length less than 8", is just a large fixed blade knife, not a Bowie knife.

3) Full Tang - I consider full hidden tangs, with a rubber over-mould, to be full tang. Many people define a full tang knife, as a full exposed tang. Are we limiting the discussion to full exposed tangs? The Cold Steel Trailmaster in San Mai iii, is a beastly Bowie, but it has a full hidden tang, with a rubber over-mould.

This is an awesome Bowie knife, but it's I don't think it had any chromium in it, which means it doesn't qualify as a stainless Bowie.

I second the Helle Nord. Just got one and it’s a hell of a knife.

Another one that blows me away is the the Joker Nomad 6.5. It’s not a Bowie knife per se but it’ll do anything you need and the convex edge is robust and insanely sharp. Outstanding sheath and holding it next to the Helle Nord, you’d say it was its equal…at half the price. The quality of this knife is insane. You can also get it in the 5 inch version. I have both and prefer the 6.5 inch version, makes it a slightly better chopper

You are correct. It does not. Just the best Bowie in your price range.
Out of one of the toughest steels available. Imagine a band saw in a wood mill receiving logs and running all day long making boards out of trees. That's this steel.

Cudeman makes a great stainless bowie which for its sale price is an awesome deal. Can't remember the name right now.

And likely one of the top choices in stainless would be Falkniven A1x
