Junk, by any other name, is still Junk.

BTW, because this is such a unique and desirable piece, I really think the lucky winner should agree to do some extreme testing and post the results here, with plenty of good photos of the "Chinese FoulWind" in action, of course. ;)

When Thomas finally figures out that I won this contest, and sends the knife to me (along with a "KERSHAW" pin :D), I plan on hanging the knife on my wall in a place of honor...(In back of my walk-in closet, behind my old leisure suits from the 1970's.).:D.:D.

Naw, man...this should be a pass around! Give everybody the chance to see what shecky's life is like...

Geeze...I'm starting to think that maybe Thomas doesn't have a first name.:D.

He's probably reconsidering the giveaway, Kershaw's legal department probably pointed out the liability issues with giving away such an incredible knife and are working on a liability waiver to include. Or maybe he's trying to find a pair of kevlar of chain-mail gloves to give away with it.

It's probably cost us more in electricity posting to win that thing, than it cost to make it.

In THAT case, since I THINK that I'm the winner, maybe he'll send a plain-edge 1630 Cyclone to me instead.:D.:D.

Waiver? I don need no steenkin waiver!

Go ahead and send it to me. I'll give it the Federal HST .45 +P test from 21 feet. I'll even videotape it and post the results!

Oh, I'm keeping my fingers crossed (and away from that failure prone lock,) hoping that I win that fine, shiny example of a free trade *copy.* (See? You teach me sooooooo well to tell the difference!)

Let me see...

How bout something really cool and masculine like my given name??

STACEY!

(Thank gawd I hit 6'3" and 230. "Yes," like the Boy Named Sue, you DO learn to scrap early and often.)

I'm banking on John, or Jon....

For the win, and my first Kershaw copy, ever.

?

Either way; very interesting prize. The screw holding the clip down in your second photo... that's funny as hell. Nice big, fat gap there, eh?

C'mon, soft lead and copper are no test of the durability of a quality steel like that! We need someone with AP in .50 cal.

Okay, educated guess number two (plus some). Thomas is out; too obvious and clearly not the right answer.

So, I'm guessing that you're over 40, as I haven't met many (not any, but many) managers of anything that were under 40. I made a quick online search of popular boy's names between '60 and '69 and came up with the list below. The list contained one hundred names, but just listing them all and going with a no-choke-shotgun approach would just be flat out cheating. I only submit the first fifteen in a poor attempt to be more sportsmanlike. So, it's still a guess, but there's my reasoning behind it.

This Chinese Whirlwind won't replace my EDC flat black Chive (carried since 2005<-- shameless self-ingratiating), but I will enjoy owning it as a prize nonetheless.

My first name guesses, respectfully submitted:

1. Michael
2. David
3. John - guessed this already. No disqualification for double guesses, I hope.
4. James
5. Robert
6. Mark
7. William
8. Richard
9. .. is Thomas, which is not likely your 'first' and middle name
10. Jeffrey
11. Steven
12. Joseph
13. Timothy
14. Kevin
15. Scott
