When Thomas finally figures out that I won this contest, and sends the knife to me (along with a "KERSHAW" pin :D), I plan on hanging the knife on my wall in a place of honor...(In back of my walk-in closet, behind my old leisure suits from the 1970's.).:D.:D.
LOL! Man, such a fine shiv as this would look great with a lime green leisure suit -- definitely gonna want video of you out stylin' 'n profilin' around town like that, g-man!

Naw, man...this should be a pass around! Give everybody the chance to see what shecky's life is like...
If Thomas plans to put all our names on the pass around list, I think more than a few of us might just decide to move. :)

Ya know, I actually DID have a lime green leisure suit "back in the day"...And I wasn't even considered a nerd.:D.

A second read of the hint ("the reward fits the answer") in the original question prompts these guesses below. Don't take any offense at daft name guesses, justification listed in parentheses.

1. Friam (free knife)
2. Shep (cheap, as in cheap knife; not really similar sounding, but still...)
3. Copernicus ('copy', the knife's a 'copy'.. copernicus..? sorry)
4. Bill ('bill-ade".. blade... aargh! This word game stuff is makin' me nuts!)
5. Colin, or Collin (hey, it share's two and three letters from Copy and China, gimme a break)
6. Tom (as in Tom Thomas?... long shot, but you kept mentioning 'copy' so figured your first name may be a copy of your middle name, and assumed you're middle name was Thomas.... sheesh, this ain't easy, but I suppose you know that).

I've gotta get back to work here. Will think on it and post later if my gray matter gives anything else up.

You should at least replace that screw that is shy. Do not want any obviously inferior products given out.

Hey, maybe that is a clue, is your first name Screwshy or screwloose?
Hoyel pronounced hole? Or maybe Stripped? Shoddy? Koppee?

Where is Thomas anyhow, he just lit this one off and ran didnt he?

Maybe he replaced his first name with a symbol?

How about, Clyde? Aluiscious? Cosmo? Grant? Hank? Bucky?

What about Bob? lol

"The reward fits the answer" because all you have to do to win this knife is copy his name from above. His name is Thomas. We just have-to be copycats to reap financial gain. That was his statement. A metaphor if you will.

Or I could be way off...

Is it Robert Thomas Knight Welk?

Wow everyone, really great guesses. With all the time and effort that went into your posts, this "copy" is obviously a knife that is very very desirable. I knew it would be.

With that said, there is a winner. Now usually you all really stink at guessing, but this time you were all focused. No doubt due to the grand prize.

glockman99 with the very 1st guess of "Thomas" (yes that is my real name) is your winner!!!!!! I can't wait to get this quality "copy" out to you. Mind you, this is not a "counterfeit", but merely a "copy" (sorry about that).

glockman, please enjoy the use off our design and features packaged within this fine "copy", and get back to us with some feedback!!!!

Thanks for playing everyone!!

Of course the knife was desirable, it's probably one of a kind - with workmanship like that there's no chance that any two are alike.

Thanks for letting us play Thomas!

Thank god !!!! errrr, I mean...Congrats Glockman !!!

Thanks for the game Thomas !! Sorry about all the name calling, lol

EXCELLENT!!...I'll be sure to stock up on bandages for when I do the spine-wack test and "hair-on-arm" shaving tests...But then, I doubt if the blade on that nice knife will be sharp-enough to cut my tough skin like my real Kershaw knife did! Also, if you'd want to substitute a nice plain-edge 1630 Cyclone...a real one...for that nice pot-metal/"surgical stainless" China knife, that would be ok, too.:D.:D.

That's what's really scary about the 70's. Even cars were lime green, orange, and had grills and hoods that looked like landed tuna gasping for air. The Era of Ugly!

Guess the JYD2 won't be getting much pocket time after this fine new knife arrives, huh? ;)

Janis Joplin?...Yah, I remember her.:D.:D.:D.

And, I'm sure that my JYD II won't have much of a problem keeping that China "knife" at-bay once it arrives. BTW...I'm thinking that my JYD II could CUT that China "knife" in-half...Kershaws are strong like that, but those poor old pot-metal/"surgical stainless steel" China knives aren't really made to be USED.
