Best Horizontal Carry sheath designs?

Actually I have never seen him use his own knife on his show, the few times I caught it....before going back to reading when it was/is on!

He's using it in the show that's on TV right now - the very knife pictured with the big serrations.

Bear's in Romania, doing the usual crazy stuff, including eating some bits of apple found in some bear poo (brown, not Grills, that is)

Yes I just watched this episode.....the serrations on the knife have him struggling on whittling the spear if you noticed....there is too little blade to bite deep....ditto when having to cross grain baton to make the improvised climbing axe....for me the old design minus the serrations was a better one....BUT his use of such a small blade does remind you of how effective a small blade can be.

It's when he starts rappelling off cliffs with insufficient rope and then cutting it that you start shaking your head at his "knife techniques".....well....that and eating from Bear sh*t...

I made a multi position sheath out of kydex for my F1's.

Dozier's "Style A" sheaths are hands down the best horizontal sheaths that I have ever used.

TF,

I think the the things that make horizontal carry comfortable relate to the length and width of the blade, and the width/depth of the loop or clip. I wear this little skinner every day, normally for hours, and forget that it is there. I don't wear it in the typical crossdraw fashion, but on my strong hand (right) side:

These pics have been posted before:

The other knife that I find very comfy to wear (sort of horizontally) is the ATAX. It has very deep and wide clips, I think this is really the key to serious horizontal carry. The sheath has to ride with your body and belt position in different postures. Just my .02
