Best Hunter Folder

I'm not a hunter, but I do own and have used the BG-42 Buck 110, the Spyderco Wegner and Benchmade 720. All very different knives, but if edge holding is what you are concerned about I would recommend the 110 in BG-42. It has a definite edge in wear resistance, pardon the pun, even if the style is a lot more “classic” that the other two.

I have used the coldsteel twistmaster in carbon V for all sorts of small game. Good steel and a nice dropped point with a lock that will not fail when gunked up. You must get used to using the opinel style lock though and it takes some time to work in.

SPYDERCO WEGNER!!!!!!
The Wegner is a top notch hunting knife as well as an all around carry/defensive/work knife.

This knife does it all, and does it all well.

I am a full-time police officer. I carry the Wegner as my knife everyday. I have tried numerous other folders, but keep coming back to the Wegner. The Wegner is an awesome hunting blade. It also excels in the defensive role. At one time it was going to be the offical Gunsite knife.

I have a friend that is an avid hunter. I bought him one last year as a gift. He cleaned several deer with it. He likes it so much that he carries it everyday.

I like the design so much I am thinking about splurging for the custom version.
