Best Knife for general bushcraft?

What are you doing, slumming?!?:confused:

:D Kidding. Welcome to the world of Mora. Looking forward to reading what you think of them.

Chris

I was introduced to Moras a while back by way of our own gracious Ken C, who sent me one gratis. I have really enjoyed using that stainless version on various campouts, and after reading so much about the carbon-steeled blades here, I decided to give some of them a try. By buying a selection all at once, I figured I was saving at least $30 or $40 on shipping charges. (You like that logic? I've got more of it if you need some for your next purchase. :D)

Hey, it's not like I'm trying out the Dark Ops line-up. :p I appreciate a good knife, whether it costs $10 or $500, and I like value as much as the next guy. That's one reason I like the Victorinox SAKs so much. You get a lot of knife for $20 or so.

Here's a couple of pics I found of the Mora Ken sent me. I selected some knives to take on a car-camping trip, and in the mix was the green-handled Mora.

Aww man, I had you up on a pedistal and now this...:(

You may as well sell me your fishing kayak now...

Don't ask me what the kayak has to do with a mora, I just want the damn thing..:p

You may now return to your regularly scheduled bushcraft blades...

.

I got to a RC3 via a mora, cheap knockoff something (that I foolishly thought was better than the mora) then a camillus pilots knife (now in the hands of a friend),a buck 119 and a SOG Seal Team Elite. All of those blades taught me something, taught me what I wanted, didn't want, and what worked for me in the woods I haunt.

Yes they are all Doziers. From left to right:
Dozier Classic, Yukon Skinner, Pro Guide knife, Reverse Tanto, Reverse Tanto with Wolly Mamoth scales, Pro Guide Knife, Whittler, Reverse Tanto, Whittler, Professional Skinner, Body Guard, and the Wilderness Knife.
I have another Delta Traveler, two Wilderness, Elk Hunter to add to the lineup. These are not all my knives, they are my hunting partners and mine. I have a Drop Point on its way in 4-5 weeks, and a arkansas traveler due this spring and a Bushcraft in a little over a year.

I like my Doziers.

Money is paper. What we work with stands for life no matter how much you pay. Paper doesent last when it comes to cutting meat

Just my .02, but my Fiddleback Ladyfinger is the most used knife I've ever owned other than my el cheapo chefs knife.

It has done everything I've ever asked of it and I get more joy using it than any other comparable knife that I own.

I should know this :o , but what's the stacked-leather scandi? looks sweet!

It's the Aito Puukko from Ragweed Forge under the Finnish Knives from Järvenpää section. It has a stacked birch bark handle. Takes a wicked sharp edge. The grinds on mine were uneven, but sharpened out fairly easy.

If you want a scandi that has a touch of old world and is built like a tank, I would highly recommend it. Full tang, nice fittings, wonderful handle. Great knife.

I'm not too impressed with the sheath, but I will say that it does it's job extremely well. One of these days I'm going to send it off to get a nice neck sheath made for it.

BTW, I have found one Busse suitable for bushcraft chores.

A review would be great but I would settle for a couple of in hand shots and a spine shot. I'm guessing it's a Meaner Street, right.
