I've read the best knives under $300 post and am looking to up the ante a little. I am buying my fiance a new knife for his wedding gift (getting married in April) and want to get him a good folding carry knife (blade under 3"). I'd love to get some inlay on it if possible, but the most important things are holding an edge and feel in the hand. I've looked at the Sebenza's and some of the Benchmade gold class knives (which I can't find anywhere). Please help me find the perfect mix between form and function. Thanks!!!

Man i hope my wife is as cool as you some day :). As for a $600 folder I am clueless. Good Luck !

Well, can't add much to this topic, other than saying: That is one lucky guy, who is going to marry you :) .

Actually, at that price, you might be able to get him a one of a kind custom piece.

$600 is a lot to spend on an every day carry! If it's an EDC, I'm assuming that you want something that is quite functional, robust, distinctive looking, and will stay looking nice after a lot of use. I'd recommend a CRK mnandi -- the most robust "gentleman's" knife I know of, and will stay looking nice for decades. They start at $350.

This one has a snakewood inlay and a damascus blade -- $595 from True North Knives.

This one's got an ivory mammoth bark inlay, and runs around $550.

Best of luck with your shopping!

Try a good custom for that price. I'd have a look at some of the more well known framelocks perhaps - maybe something from Rick Hinderer, a C2O perhaps or something from Mike Obenauf.

One of my current favorites in this range is Jens Anso's Carbon Fiber and Titanium Rebel. You can see it in TheKnifeCollector's link above (or direct here:http://www.steeladdictionknives.com...CustomFolders/CarbonFiberandTitaniumRebel.php.)

Perfect size for carry (IMO) and great materials that will look great for a lifetime.

I wish I had someone willing to get me this type of gift! Whatever you decide, you can't go wrong when you put this amount of thought into the gift.

I'm a CRK knut, but will also point you toward the Williem Henry line.

With that budget your options are very wide open, any clues as to what he might like? Hobbies he has, watches or gear he owns, what he drives, how he dresses?

Dang, link won't work. Anyway, go on Ebay and do a search for Wiliam and Henry knife and you will find it.

Trust me, I have several Sebenzas. Even the fancied up ones do nothing for the women. :)

Yeah if he's actually planning on using the knife then I'd say go with a sebenza with a cool design. The sebenza is THE perfect knife!
