What is the best neck knife in your opinion, maybe the EKT companion?? Let me know, post some pics! Give me ideas and what you think about neck knives, chat, thats why it is here!

Smatchet.

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of neck knives, but if the production version is any indication the custom Folts Minimalist has to take the cake.

Yeah no problem, I am not the sharpest knife when it comes to knife knowledge. Thank you though :)

The answer to any "what is the best..." question is always "the Smatchet."

Funnily enough, it really often is the best answer to those questions.

On the original topic, I have to admit I really don't know. I do not like having things around my neck and just do not understand the whole neck knife thing.

I don't understand, the Smatchet doesn't seem to be a neck knife?

Your thread title will confuse people as it doesn't mention neck knives though your text does. Some people don't read the thread body.

I'm not a fan of most neck knives but I do like a small fixed blade. Ones that I have and carry regularly are Spartan Enyo, Bradford Guardian3, Esee Izula, BRKT Bravo Necker 2, Busse Active duty Elmax. For an actual neck knife I have a Spyderco Ark because it is so small, light, and thin. I've never handled a EKT but it is smaller than the Guardian3 which is a bit too small. Plus the new run will be more expensive and there is no way to guarantee you will get anything for your money. Paying money for something that might not get made is not a good idea IMO.

I carry knives in pockets, and sometimes on my belt. Around my neck just isn't convenient (for me).
That said, I'd probably the pick Guardian 3. (Not even probably - I did pick the Guardian 3)

Well !
I made this for myself to be what I consider to be the epitome of the perfect neck knife, I call it the DPM 2.5
It's small and light enough for me to always wear and forget about when I don't need it ( 2.5" oal 1/16" thick with a 1" blade ) I hold it between my index middle and thumb.
It takes and holds a great edge ( made from a small file )
I wear it outside my shirt otherwise it defeats it's purpose, a small fast access blade that I can draw in a split second to perform cutting tasks that take less time to perform than a folder does to open.
I love the fact that most people think its just a necklace, and people usually don't even see it when I'm using it.
I really wish some company would produce a knife like this, because people only dislike neck knives because they've never experienced one like this.

Sorry I cannot ask that never mind and it is probably to small for my liking thank you for the post though

I like Fred Perrin's neck knives.

I have his La Griffe but the Emerson version as I feel the sheath is better than the original.

Personally I love the design of the Murray Carter neck knife. I personally own a Muteki, and has been my edc since the day it arrived. I had a couple different neck knives before the Carter, but this knife blows them all away. It is just a perfect fit in my hand, very light weight, excellent blade geometry, and great edge retention.

Your welcome !
I really only make them for personal use, but it is an example of a different take on what a neck knife should be.
You'd be surprised at what a knife of this size will cut, though they're really meant to compliment a primary folder for use on small tasks.
Knives of this size are great for safely opening blister packs to.

People really need to try a knife of this size before they say they're to small, because they're really not ( bigger knives are probably necessary for one knife carriers though )

I have a SAK pioneer in a neck sheath.

I had a "neck" knife from tops. I gave it to my older brother. It was too heavy.

What I think about neck knives ? Well , I think that small neck knives is understated in their potential of use .................
