Best Leatherman Available Today?

In my experience, and opinion:

Best for EDC in pocket, gifting, having laying around: Micra
Best for rough gardening tasks, field dirty work: ST300
Best for EDC in belt, all around tool, average Joe: Wave
Best for EDC in belt, heavy duty days and work: Surge
Best for Backpacking, hiking, "small problems": Squirt PS4
Best for SAK lovers, "want it all in one" people: Juice Pro/Juice XE6

I own all of them and can't recommend them enough!

For the win. Really nailed it.

Supertool 300,Ilike the tti but don't care for the removable screwdriver/phillips config.

Pinnah! You and I share many opinions, ideas, things we look for, thoughts etc.
I learned a lot from you here and wanted to thank you. Your minimalist camping/hiking EDC ideas are awesome!

I got the PS4 because of you.
And started carrying my opinels more often as well.

As to the OP, LISTEN to whatever recommendations Pinnah gives you. They are worth their weight in gold.
I'd say, you got the MUT, give the Wave a try and if it's not of your liking you'll most likely be able to sell it for what you got it, here in the very forums or elsewehere.

This MT will give you a broader spectrum and general idea of what all the fuss is about, and the main things that are present in today's multitool market.

It is an excellent tool. Not perfect, but so popular because of something!

And a Micra. Gotta get one of those. They are cheap for what they offer, and they're Leatherman's best value offer IMO. Can't beat that little guy!

"best" is a bit arbritary.
Personally, I'd say the best ones out there are the Surge. It'll cover almost everythign you need. Downside is that it is exceptionally heavy

Best for EDC: Skeletool CX, decent blade with easy access, pliers, bit driver. Just the necessities

Best overall: Wave, imo too bulky to carry around all the time. perfect for the car or bag

Skeletool CX because it's light at 5 ounces and compact plus gives you most of what you need specially if you get the bit kit. I have a MUT which doesn't get much use since it's quite heavy at 11.2 ounces.

I'd consider Charge TTi since it's just 8.2 ounces but full featured.

I have had a Leatherman for EDC as long as I can remember. Tried all different types, also Kershaw A-100, Sog and Gerber. I always come back to Leatherman in the long run. My current MT EDC is the LM TTI, ST300 and a Kershaw A-100. I have carried the A-100 with my LM since 1997. the A-100 are getting pricey as a collectible so I snag a new one (old new stock) off the bay when they are around $100 or so, which is actually close to the original price. They are getting fewer and fewer available.

ThePeacant, I can no credit only blame. My ability to offer advice is limited. I can only share my experiences, which are limited. Opinels and Micras and really any other bit of gear will need to defend itself and earn its own keep somebody's kit. As a guy I knew once said of his heavy hiking boots, "This is what works for me. You'll probably hate them."

Anyway, thanks for the kind words.
