there are 10 for now.

Geez, this thread is makin' me wet MY pants! Top quality work from every corner. Not talking about my own shots, there are some REALLY good photos, too.

Roger, where did this image come from? Knifeart.com? Emotionally charged.

Later I can add in some REALLY fine knives I don't own. Here's a few I do. They also have oval guards, so I guess they qualify. These are different, to say the least, but that's why I like 'em:

How about SINISTRE?

Knife Art is doing some good photos. There backgrounds are very creative and interesting.

I always enjoy seeing Coops Hill Pearce collection. It is one of the most interesting collections that anyone has that I have seen posted on the Forums. The knives are unique by a unique maker and done to perfection with great style.

How about SINISTRE?
Sinistre and others I own are not 'Bowies' but more mediterranean bowies. JFC, we have too many categories.....

Before I post, I need an approval from Senator Gill..... ;)

Just be sure to tell the honorable senator there is pressure from the constituents to include it. ;) :D

Sorry Coop - don't recall the source. Might have been the maker's web site.

Roger

coop....do you have any info on pearce and his knives....i searched for a website but didn't find anything.....you seem to have quite the collection of them in your gallery....any info owuld be appreciated.....the only other knives that stopped me in my tracks like that were tai goo's....ryan

Hi Ryan,

No such luck on a website. ;) Websites came about 10 years after Hill made his last knife. He is alive and well, and retired from knifemaking in the late eighties. Quite the character, he learned under Sid Birt, Jim Schmidt and Bob Watts. He got the 'Wooden sword' award from the 1983 Knives Annual for aspiring maker, along with Bob Lum.

If you find any out there, please let ME know.... ;) :D

let you know:eek: ....you already have tooooo many......that's too bad....there are not enough makers producing work witht that style if you ask me.....ryan

One of my favorite bowies is the reproductions I have seen of Bowie No. 1. This is one that was done by Bailey Bradshaw.

OUCH!!!! If you personally own any of those knives, particularly that checkered ST24, then, as the wise sage Butthead might have said, "you suck more than anyone has ever sucked before!!!"
 :D

Many people have said that Bill Moran's fit & finish wasn't that great. It looks damn fine in that knife posted by Jim. That is one fantastic looking knife.

Joe, Thanks for the compliment.

Keith, The fit and finish on Moran's older work in the 50's & 60's wasn't that great, but that was the way people made knives back then. His work kept evolving and getting better in my opinion. The ST-24 fells like it is a part of your hand, with the distal taper it is light and really quick.
