Best Machetes?

...that are very good at cutting heavy brush, briars, and stuff like that. Not really looking for a chopper.

For thicker brush and briars, you're kinda after a chopper. I'm not talking Esee junglas but more like a golok/parang style machete, essentially heavy machetes.

Honestly, check out the baryonyx machete though. The main blade is a good all-purpose blade and the hook and the reverse side is going to be slick for getting those briars snipped up if you need to cut around things they've grown around. It's as heavy as a chopper though.

My parang has some pretty neat stuff but I haven't tested it. From condor, the golok seems like it would be a good choice for that use just be sure to use a hook or stick in your off hand for the briars to bend them over and get at them.

I would avoid the Condor El Savador for your intended use as it's more of a grass/green stuff machete and you'll want a little extra weight to carry through the bushes and briars.

Just remembered the Condor Viking machete, it's a beast and would be pretty good as well. But, I like the Baryonyx better after having and using both for a while. The handle on the viking machete was pretty small.

Those are my thoughts at least.

Parang on the bottom, baryonyx 2nd from top.

2nd from the top here is the SYKCO 1311 but it's basically a golok machete/chopper.
