Best movie knife/sword wounds

Good show. The first Highlander was the best though. Fantastic sword fights. I like movies like Braveheart and 300, but with Highlander you got one on one swordplay which is much more fun to watch IMHO. Also the Kurgan was badass!

I loved that show too:thumbup::D:D

Some of my favs already mentioned:

Rob Roy
Highlander
13th Warrior
Zatoichi Blind Swordsman Series
The Flying Guillotine

Just saw Blood recently on DVD. Based loosely on the anime series about a female vampire/demon hunter. She slices up large groups of foes with a samurai sword. Not very realistic, but interesting use of computer animation on blood splatter and head removals. Fun fight scenes, ending could have been better. I suspect we'll be seeing more computer animation on sword fights and wounding.

I don't really enjoy seeing people be cut open, I'm not much for those types of movies (the Saw VI intro where the lady chopped her arm off with a cleaver was brutal as was the guy cutting his fat off with a chefs knife) but I think that the part in 300 where the horseman cuts off the guys head was pretty cool and I thought it was awesome.

Resident Evil: Extinction - The ,IIRC 1st sequel. Milla wielding 2 kukhris against zombies. Kinda made me want a kukhri:D

Just have to add Last samurai. Great movie. Great battle scenes.(even though it stars Tom Cruise)

I would have to agree that Rob Roy was a fantastic flick...the end of the new Rambo was also very grousome when he basically cuts the bad guy in half with his sharpened leaf spring that he hand forged in the begining of thr film. Gladiator was also vey good especially when he uses two swords like scissors to decap that guy.

Are all you "kids" too young to remember Basil Rathbone and Errol Flynn in their famous sword fight in one of the Robin Hood movies of the 50's? These two men had several where they were toes-toes and nose-nose Cooter

the rambo knives are the best movie knives ever made.
no one has or could out do those knives.lile rules....

I think maybe Sir Lancelot might just beat "the black knight fight" for swordage

The "theater fight" in a moivie called the banquet has some real nice sword work.

But.... you can't have a list like this with out Ogami Itto and the Lone wolf and cub films
getting a mention. Those just may just be the ultimate sword killing films of all time

one dome lopped off every week...i did love that show...

How many immortals did he take out? I always thought after the first movie, Christopher Lambert was the last one left.

I gotta rent Highlander 2, I've seen all the other Highlander movies.

Zatoichi with Beat Takeshi reprising the role. Probably the most 'realistic" as any movie can get. He really handled his sword strokes well, lots of focus and strong enough to believably cut through his opponents.

Realistic? We talkin' about the same movie?

I liked the Shintaro Katsu films better myself... for the most part. No CGI, and the choreography for some of the fights were leaps and bounds above the modern stuff.

While we're on the subject of Japanese chambara films, how about that final showdown in Sanjuro? GUSSSSHHHH!!!!

And The Sword of Doom... practically wall-to-wall awesome, almost 40 years before Kill Bill and its ilk.
