I've bought a ton of Busse, Swamp & Scrap Yard knives. Wondering what else out there is tops. If I had to guess I'd say Bark River Knives in CPM 3V. what say you?

probably Fehrman, Survive knives since they make CPM-3V knives too

Im looking for a a nice Pocket carry Fixed blade in 3v. Let me know its all about the how well the pocket sheath is.

I know 1095 isn't a "supersteel" like 3v but I think ESEE makes an awesome knife. I've owned and used many of their different models and they are well designed/ well thought out blades. As a matter of fact all of their stuff is well designed.

I've never tried one, but Fehrman gets pit against Busse quite a bit. I'd like to try one out. Some people say Ferhman has better fit in finish, but I would not know.

Fehrman is outstanding! Their fit and finish is absolutely top notch. Other than Busse and Family, Fehrman is my favorite Production company .....I have had a few Beckers and no complaints about them....and really looking foward to the new Kukri, but other than Ferhman and Busse I generally go to custom after them.....David Wesner (Kelsey Creek), Bill Siègle, Jim Baker.....are a couple favorites.

Bark River had some HT issues in the past. Honestly for the price of a Fehrman or Busse you can get a heck of a nice custom in just about any steel you want.

I like a few of the Bark River designs. I was able to use a BR Golok once...it was amazing. I've heard a lot of issues with their heat treat and other things, it wouldnt stop me from giving them a try though. If I found a Golok for right price, I would give it a go.

Again. And as Patrick said, for the price of some larger Busse and Fehrman, a nice custom could be had. I also like giving our local Bladforum talent some business also. Check the Custom exchange, great value to be had there!!

If you are set on trying 3V Chris Berry, Big Chris here on the forums, or James Terrio who is also here on the forums could make you something that would last you a lifetime of hard use. You simply give them a design and they will put it into steel form for you.

This. Busse and Fehrman are great knives, but there is nothing like a custom knife made exactly to fit your hand. Everybody should own a custom knife sometime in their lifetime.

I'm not locked into any steel. I just want top of the line. I know 3V is top tier so that's why I keep referencing it.

I think they are called survive knives.... I believe the model number starts with gso. They come in 3v also if your looking at production knives. I think they come in 4", 6", and 10" lengths. I have mostly busse, swamprat, and scrapyard fixed blades but with have a big Chris custom one day. I will most likely lean towards s90v with a short blade though. I really enjoy my infi for large tough use choppers.

I have several of the Bussekin knives also, mostly Swamp Rat. I gravitate mostly to smaller fixed blades. I have both the BRKT necker in 3V and the Essential EDC in M4. The Eseential EDC has amazing fit and finish. M4 is probably my favorite steel. My favorite design is the small Benchmade Snody Activator. I love that knife for EDC. I've also been wanting to try a Koster. But, the 3" model wasn't in stock when I was ready to purchase. Essie's are not bad at all for the price.
