best of the best "tactical" knives

still waiting to find out what this guy is actually looking for... fixed, folder, natural handle or man made. we need some criteria here. not much to base an opinion off from the get go, but since i read all this way i thought i'd post and see what was the intent

A fixed blade that looks serious. There are many that fit this description. The Buck 119 would do fine and be able to be used for practical utilitarian purposes which will likely be its main purpose as a confrontation is the last thing most folks want to deal with

Best spec-ops-dark-ninja-anti-terrorist folder out there is quite easily the Böker Kalashnikov 101. That thing is so wrong, it goes all the way around to feeling right again. I swear that blade shouldn't feel as good as it does in hand. It always brings a grin to my face holding that thing.

And you know what's best of all? It's affordable but you can tell your non knife people friends it cost 500 bucks because it was designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov, which of course it wasn't. In fact I doubt Kalashnikov ever laid eyes on the thing but hey, they don't know that right. And that glass breaker on the end? That's no glass breaker that's a frickin' skullcrusher. because that's how Russian special forces roll baby...

Okay j/k, but that thing really is my no1 guilty pleasure

Needs more picatinny rails!

My personal favorite tactical knives are Emersons if you can afford them and cold steel for a cheaper, foreign made but still awesome option. I like ontario fixed blades too, I think their marine raider model would fit your tastes fairly well.

Gah! You people disappoint me deeply with your feeble attempts to show tactical knives.

I present the Dark Ops Interceptor 911 E&E:

"It includes a patent pending Splitter Hilt™ which provides for cutting away harnesses and overhead cables. Backsaw is optimized for cutting through plexiglass aircraft canopies or helo windows. The choil-notch doubles as both a bottle opener and peacemaker-its’ deployment and use is a great bar fight deterrent in exotic third world locales. Extended serrations aid underwater cutting efforts. Hilt ports provide additional attachment points for paracord in survival situations. Window-breaker in pommel. Notch design allows prybar style mechanical advantage for entry through aluminum vehicle rooftops. Expander tip provides expanded entry-wound channel."

In short i want to see what others believe are the best synthetic furnitured blades. not so big on folders though. this would include hunting, bowie, and combat knives as well as daggers machetes and swords. It's all good so long as none of its parts came from something that was once breathing. I'm not really into tac stuff but i want to know what other people like that is tac.

It appears your criteria suggests something G-10-handled, a resin-impregnated cloth that is very tough and nothing in it ever breathed air before.

Well, the cotton plants exchanged O2 for CO2, didn't they, but no blood was involved, typically.

And "combat" knives often have dark blades so as not to reflect light while carrying out sentry-removal operations down at Wally World.

That's why you never see any outside the store, only inside the front door. The ones that were outside were taken out by special operations operators operating with knives described above.

Hey man dont knock it till you try it....Mine has gotten me through my fair share of bar fights in exotic third world locals. Every opponent I came up against ran scared when they saw all the blood pouring out of me after I tried to take it out of its sheath. Somehow I managed to slit both wrists, cut an artery in my left leg, and lose half of my dick in the process:eek::D

I'll back Rolf's suggestions... Here's a couple of pics, which are just more fun than words:

wow is that a transformer? wtf? it reminds me of those really really expensive gundam kits some of the other kids played with in 97. so much lettering so freaking weirdly shaped... did they find it at roswell? is it a kligon blade or something? kinda reminds me of a jutte but i dont know.

Hey man... don't knock it. that thing was supposedly designed by an "expert" as claimed by their advertising... just like TOPS knives (who cornered the market on stupid "tough guy" slogans) where every knife made is designed by some former wilderness wizard or navy seal. Problem is that a lot of these "experts" don't know the first thing about cutlery. People read "former special forces" this or whatnot and automatically presume the guy knows what he is talking about when in reality there just as many guys in SOF that know nothing about knives as there are in most other occupations. Sorry... i went on a rant there, but i've been in the military for 15 years and see some of the most useless pieces of garbage hanging off some of the worlds elite. Don't get me wrong there are some really great products from some knowledgable military guys (Spartan comes to mind) but "dark ops" and "tops" have some real eye sores on their menu.

P.S. just imagine this Dark ops knife in reality... every sharp corner and hook getting caught on every piece of kit you have and every branch you crawl by... brilliant!

Two words for handle material: OOSIC MICARTA. Now back to your regularly scheduled program.....
