I am sounding like a busted CD here, but the all time best small Spydie is the Jester. Weighs practically nothing, sheeple friendly, and very nice ergos.
I consider 3" Spydies Medium and over 4" large. In my category best of the small spydies (ladybugs and other keyrings excluded) is Spyderco Urban. Small, light, linerless, VG-10 blade and comfortable.
I have the CF Walker, CF Kiwi, and Kopa CF and jigged bone). I am more likely to carry the Walker when I want a small knife, followed by the CF Kopa.
The Walker disappears in your pocket, yet has a more generally useful blade than the smaller Spydercos. It is not as dressy looking as the Kopa.
The only "small" knife I carry right now, and is my favorite, is a G10 Dragonfly. Great ergos, good blade steel, and who doesn't love G10 and screw construction??? I took the clip off mine, tied a small lanyard on, and carry it in my coin pocket.
The number 2 and 3 spots are tied with the Lava, and the G10 Poliwog. Love these knives as well, but the Dragonfly is the one I kept
The ergos of the Lava are hard to beat. I'm a big knife freak but the Lava impressed me immediately with its superb design. The smallest Spyderco I would contemplate owning is the Stretch but the Lava feels like a much bigger knife in the hand. And the blade design is great too.
