Best office knife?

I agree with most...rainbow leek,sak,slippy...et al

I'd use a Texas tooth-pick,Congress,or Canoe in an office environment.These go from anywhere from $5.00 - $500+

Good luck,

I work in an office with a bunch of morons that don't even have scissors on their desks. I carry a Case Canoe and rarely ever pull it out of my pocket to use it.

how in the heck do you use it then?
put what you need cut in the pocket with the blade?

Some great suggestions already...

I also like the A. G. Russell 2.5 Titanium Lockback Folder posted above, and the
A.G. Russell FeatherLight one hand opener in ATS-34.

The Al Mar UltraLight series are great knives as well which meet your requirements.

There are lots of great choices out there.

Have fun!

Spydie Lava packs a lot of EDC in a really small, light & slim package. Also the SS looks pretty classy with just about any office dress.

Are they reliable? TheBladeShop also has some great deals, but I hear they're not a good place to buy from...

I've yet to find out.I was merly offering the OP useful(IMO) suggestions according to his/her criteria. The price shouldn't be too different at other stores/sites.

Once I make my first purchase from them,I'll let you know how it went:)

Not knowing the office environment you are in I would keep it around 2-2 1/2 inches closed. Most of the sheeple TOLERATE a knife in that range......

If you shop around on ebay, you can find a Spyderco Kiwi within your budget. I think it's one of the very best, most friendly (almost cute in fact), choices for an office knife. I do love mine!
Next to that one, the Fallkniven U2 is remarkable and humble-looking as well.
Both are my two most carried knives, indeed in an office environment.

Hmm.. interesting stuff so far, guys. Thank you all.

What about those knives that are specifically tailored to your fingers, or something like that? The ones where you measure around 2 fingers and send them your measurements... does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Sure, you can go to a custom knifemaker and have a knife made for you.

However, the price will be significantly higher than $100.00.

I agree -- that's a good one. The only thing is, with the stainless steel frame it's actually a little heavy in the pocket, for it's size.

I work in an office and my favorite carries are: a Canal Street sleeveboard ring knife, a Schrade 34OT (still available on e-bay) and a Case mini Copperlock. I have one in bone/stainless as well as yellow composite/carbon. The yellow/carbon version is a real workhorse, and it's very light in the pocket. About $35.

Kershaw Leek.

Small size, good materials and put together well and at a good price. Oh, yea, the SpeedSafe Assisted Opening for the "Cool Factor".

If weight is an issue, why not check out AL Mar's ultralight series?I have the largest. It is so light,I barely know I'm carrying it.They have smaller sizes Here

That is retail price. They can all be had for under $100

A vic huntsman, i love this thing, it's sheeple friendly, good price, about 2 1/2inch blade, has large blade, small blade, tweezers, toothpick, can opener with screwdriver head, bottleopener with flat head, scissors, wood saw, reamer, cork screw, parcel hook, and a cross to fend off vampires.

I EDC a Case XX Peanut around the office so I don't freak out my coworkers with the Spyderco Police I have clipped in my pocket. Therefore I recommend a Case slippie of your choice. SAKs are also a nonthreatening choice, the Alox metal handle series are a favorite of mine. If you are not opposed to a Multi-Tool Leatherman makes some smaller pocketable sized tools that can accomplish almost any task....not to take away from the SAK of course.

Good luck in you final choice and enjoy.

I found the Spyderco S suprisingly office friendly. It's very light (2 oz), slim, has a compression lock and great ergo's. Colleagues describe it as cute. MSRP $99.95.

I can't imagine freaking out anybody at the office with a Peanut (small and traditional looking) or a SAK Cadet - both of which are great knives. As far as your edge retention requirement, do you really need a super-steel for office use? Unless you are cutting glossy paper all day (in which case you should get a pair of scissors), these knives should meet every office need.

Pick any Swiss Army knife.

It is one of the most universally recognized brands after Coca Cola. They are known the world over as a useful pocket tool and not a weapon. The various tools available can come in very handy around the office.
