I don't feel I'm thrashing the people who run these forums (I thought Bladeforums and 1SKS are independent organizations, though affiliated in some way .. I could be wrong), but I do apologize if it seems that way. Like I said, the moderator is free to take off my post anytime .. I won't object. It seems, with the exceptions of shivey and architect, everyone missed the focus of the thread anyway so maybe it's better (especially for danelle) that this post be taken off the forum.

I just want your real name before I post any reply. I'd like to do some research and figure out

1. What went wrong with your order, and
2. What, if anything, could have been done to improve what happened.

A quick search on your email address reveals no name associated with it, and no orders placed with that as a listed email address.

So, I'm eager to hear who you are and what exactly happened.

that is a possibility :) fyi, I don't hate 1SKS (disagree on their policies, yes .. but I don't hate them) and I don't hate Spark.

Ka-ching! Much better worded than my post. Seems a bit ungrateful...but what are you gonna do. He is entitled, but he shouldn't be surprised if people slam him back. Especially when talking about a store that was put up strictly to support these very forums he's using.

As far as the original topic is concerned, I'll second Architect. Bayou Lafourche is top-notch. Very fast, communicative, and honest. Oh, and their address is www.knifeworks.com ;).

With the old 1SKS (as now it's under new management as I understand it) nothing went wrong with my order, except that the processing of refund took forever. I never said anything was wrong with the old 1SKS, though it could improved its after sales service :) .. but as I recalled, there were no strict policies and re-stocking fee so it's good. Under the new management, I haven't bought anything from them because of their policies. I love all the new items and prices that they offer, but the policies made me think twice.

So, if it happened under my watch, I'd like to know what happened, who you are, the exact details of the situation, and what (if anything) we could have done to rectify the situation.

I'm still waiting for your name and / or order number, as I'm eager to resolve this.

I have had a couple lousy experiences with 1SKS, will I still order from them? You bet. It supports BF and that's enough for me. I have also had bad experiences with KCI and Kinfe Outlet. Stuff happens:p

Nobody is perfect and having been laid up with a fractured jaw for the last 2 weeks I'd have gone nuts! without BF ;)

Well, after responding minute by minute for a while this morning, this person seems to have disappeared without a trace. I'll send an email to see what (if anything) is up, but...

I know they were monitoring this thread after my responses (I was running a scan at the time), so I know they were read.

Funny thread. Serious business, but fun to watch folks come unwound nonetheless.

I've ordered from 1SKS and received the best of service. BTW, no mail order company could stay in business with a liberal return policy. Too many folks would be ordering knives just to fondle (and possibly damage) them. Most folks here do their homework before ordering on the net.
 
Ditto Chopper. I thought the original post was politely conversational with the required knife content...not really slamming anyone, but perhaps questioning some vendors' policies. No biggie. BTW, SMKW is found at www.eknifeworks.com.
 
Well, the mystery is partially explained -

All of this person's bad experiences apparrantly happened over a 1.5 years ago, before I took over running 1SKS.

Needless to say, things were much differant then. For the time period, he/she certainly had a valid complaint, however, a quick scan of GBU will tell you that is no longer the case... complaints are down about 95% overall since we've added more phone lines, automation, streamlined systems and more.

I still don't have their real name, so I don't have the exact details, but I can rest easy knowing that it didn't happen recently and there's nothing I could have done
