Minor cuts one can improvise with a bandana or something similar...it is the serious ones we need to be most concerned about. I always carry two Israeli Bandages or Battle Dressings (IBD) - the 4" are small. I carry one in a BDU pocket so I always have one for me...I carry a spare in my WASP pack for other people. If I only carry one and then use it on someone else then I'm screwed if I later get injured. The IBD is an amazing piece of technology, extremely versitile and will work for everything thing from GSW (gun shot wounds) to major wounds, sling for broken bones and even a turny if someone is bleeding seriously. Also it is designed so one can put the dressing on with one hand if you do not have anyone to assist you. IBD are now standard issue for the troops sent in harms way and many LEO and Fire Depts are now issuing them for their guys (not usually for general public's use). Highly recommended.
