Best, QUIETEST, generator

Husqvarna is right up there with Stihl in chain-saws, I'm told. (I have a Stihl.) Shindaiwa makes pretty good stuff. I've had one of their "low-end" string trimmers for going on 20 years and it still works like a champ. When I bought my Tanaka back-pack leaf blower, I was told it was "the Cadillac of leaf blowers." I since had guys in the lawn maintenence business tell me the same. Don't know how the rest of their gear is.

I tend not to buy "consumer-grade" equipment, as a rule. I'd rather pay more, take care of it, and have it last forever. That 20-year-old Shindaiwa string trimmer still works as well and as powerfully as it did the day I brought it home. I know a brand-new consumer/residential product wouldn't hold a candle to it.

Like I said previously: Generac generators, with the Generac-made engine, are, or used to be, pretty damn good. Don't know if that's still the case.

Anytime I am following a landscaping truck/trailer I always take note of what they are using. After a while you start to notice trends. It has to work everyday for them. They have allready done the testing and evaluating so I don't have to.

I know a couple people that have Generacs that don't have any complaints but I know for a fact they really have not had to use them much. Which is good in a way that thier power has not gone out too often. Here in western WA we have yet another butt kicking windstorm due in by tonight. Then snow, followed by below freezing temps. Right now as I type my wife is out filling all of our gas cans since we will most certainly lose power again. If it does happen it will be outage number 10 since this fall.:grumpy: :grumpy:

Honda 3000is. Mine runs my A/C in my trailer, microwave and anything else you can throw at it. It has a remote electric start for my wife who won't/can't pull start anything, quieter than heck at full load, $1900 shipped to my door. Yamaha is right up there too.

The EU3000is maintains the impressive rating of 48 to58dB (less than that of common speech even at rated load), and it will run for up to 20 hours on a single tank of gas when used with the Eco-Throttle feature. This impressive generator provides 3000 watts of power and weighs only 134lbs. The Honda Inverter Technology makes this generator ideally suited for use with sensitive electronics (e.g., computer, fax, printer, telephone, stereo) because the generator produces a clean sine wave of energy that results in no surging. To prevent any possible damage to the unit, the Oil Alert will shut the unit off when the oil drops below a safe operating level. The available power is commonly used for the following typical electric devices:
• Full Size Micro Wave Ovens
• Larger Power Tools i.e. circular saw
• Resistive Load Kitchen Appliances (i.e. Coffee Maker, Toaster)
• Roof Top RV Air Conditioner
• Emergency Home Back up power where no 220 power is required
