Best SAK for edc?

I have a victorinox craftsman right now, but i find its a little heavy and too thick to edc. There is some things i want in it.

-Has to be Victorinox
-has to be less than 3 layers thick
-has to have a phillips head screwdriver

Thanks!:p

If you visit the SAKWiki site you can break down what it is you're looking for, by using the filter on the right hand side.

I'd get a rambler for the excellent Phillips head on the bottle opener, (works on small to medium screws), and a pioneer, which has the can opener tip, good for Phillips screws too.

+1 on the rambler. I have one and love it. It's the size of a classic, with all of the same tools plus a great magnetized phillips head screw driver, and two layers thick. Very inexpensive, and always earns a place in my pocket.

I EDC a Victorinox Executive, and if I didn't carry my Vic Swisstool Spirit on my belt, I'd pair the Executive with my Pioneer. I prefer the Executive's size to the even smaller Classic or Rambler. If I needed to screw a lot of small Phillips, though, I'd choose my Rambler.

I ended up buying a tinker! It looks to be the best size, and it has all of the functions i want on it!! Thanks everyone for there suggestions!!

I just have to ask the question, why does it have to be Victorinox? What is wrong with Wenger products? I would take a Wenger Standard Issue over a Vic Pioneer anytime.

Oh, BTW, the Cadet is a great knife for EDC.

I just like Victorinox over wenger, I'm not saying Wenger is bad, i just don't really like the looks of them.

what he said!

The Wenger Standard Issue is identical to the Pioneer, and is discontinued. The Wenger may or may not have a bale, may or may not have a hollow rivet, and the Pioneer will come with a key ring, but other than that, they are the same knife.

Guy's, he's already made his choice, there's no need for more suggestions. Read reply #25 of this thread, he chose a Victorinox SAK Tinker, with sapphire blue scales.

We should still put up suggestions for other people that might be in the same situation as OP. It also gives us a chance to ask each other what we really like about specific models.

That's a great knife baliflipper

If you hadn't picked that one already I would've recommended the Super Tinker. It's the same but it has a pair of scissors down the middle (makings it 3 layer) and the addition of a parcel hook on the bottom side. It's my favorite red handled variant for day to day activities and comes with a pouch to boot.

and sorry, i haven't figured out how to upload images yet..:p

You need to be a paid member of BladeForums.com in order to upload images and such. The best way around that is to upload to a image hosting website, then post the img share link in your reply.

Before you upload the image, resize it to 800 pixels, but keep the aspect ratio so your image won't be stretched in any way.
