Best Sharpening Stones bad buying experience!

So I initially ordered an Edge Pro because all of the places I looked at had no stock on the WE. I ordered it from Best Sharpening Stones and out of curiosity I called within 2 hours of placing my order to just see what the deal was with the WE. I spoke with Michael the owner and he was quite nice and told me the WE would be available 3/1/2012 and he strongly recommended it over the EP once I described what I wanted...and he said he would be willing to cancel my order and place an order for the WE and ship it out once it came in. However he told me they already shipped out the EP Apex 4 but instructed me to refuse the shipment and call him once that was done. So as instructed...I refused the shipment from USPS and called Michael...got his answering service who forwarded the message and my number (which he already has). Never heard from him so I sent him an email (replied back to the order as I did with the EP per his instructions to remind him about out conversation), email was never answered so I let 2 days pass and called again, left another message with his answering service made sure to give them my number as well as had her repeat it back to ensure she had the right one...once again nothing...no call back. So I emailed again after 2 days of no response a friends please call me when you get a chance to make sure the EP was returned..etc. Once again nothing. So I called yet again...now I believe this is the 3rd call and once again left a message with the answering service....and no call back. Sent one last email and called 2 additional time, leaving the last message as I will be disputing my credit card charge with my bank...in which I did. This whole process of emailing and calling was over about a 3 week period. Very disappointed in Best Sharpening Stones and never felt I was rude or inappropriate yet unreasonable for I was doing exactly what Michael wanted me to do. I am shocked with my experience and the lack of communication. It has now been over 4 weeks and I have heard nothing. Just glad I got my 240 bucks back! Clay should be aware of how his product is being represented for that matter so should EP!

I still want an WE but now where do I go, Michael had decent prices and at first seemed like a great place to buy for my initial conversation with him was wonderful!! Let me know. Thanks
 
If I were in your place I would call Clay and bring this whole story to his attention. I am sure he will work with you to your satisfaction. You can be sure that whether he sells you a WEPS or someone else does, he cares about his product and how it interfaces with people. Negativity is not what he wants.

^ Leo hit this one on the head. Talk to Clay directly, he'll get you squared away!

Also, who knows, there might have been something come up. Poor guy might have fallen down the stairs and been in the hospital, I have no idea.

Thanks for posting this. I was just getting ready to order from them. Not kidding. I am waiting for an e-mail reply from Clay. After he responded I was going to place my order from there, most likely in a couple of hours.

I cannot thank you enough. I am not being sarcastic either. I guess I'll move onto the other website I found.

Thanks guys for the Support. The ironic thing about this is that michael was never rude, mean, or so on...just never communicated with me. We did have a negative conversation nor were my messages rude or inappropriate. I just dont get it...this was over a 4 week period. I will call clay as well...love his product...just want to get one!
 
I think the title of this thread misleading. Your problem wasn't with WE.

On another forum I am on there are many complaints/bad experiences from people who have ordered their WE from Best Sharpening Stones. I would say almost all have had to go to their credit card Co. to resolve it. The WE is a great system and I suggest you order from someone else or the Co. itself.
 
Just want to thank Clay for all the help, a quick phone call and I have a Wicked Edge on the way!! Also had a great talk with him as well! Really like the way he stands behind his product!
 
I also think you should edit the thread title to have the stores name in place of "Wicked Edge." Just by looking at the title is looks like you had a bad experience buying from Wicked Edge directly.

I had a very wonderful and satisfying transaction with Wicked Edge just yesterday. Very pleasant people.

Even if the wording in the title seems right to you, it perhaps wasn't as well thought out as you might have intended, especially given that most every response made here in regards to the title strongly suggests otherwise.
 
Your right that is why the title had "bad buying experience" in it...pretty clear this wasnt a knock on WE but a vendor that sells it. But thanks for your comments!

I agree with the others here. Please change 'Wicked Edge' to 'Best Sharpening Stones' in the title, since they're the real offenders here.
 
Wicked edge is the most amazing system I every used. I agree, your post is misleading and unless people read the thread they might get a negative view of wicked edge.

Sorry you had a bad experience with the company, but the owner of WE cared enough to respond in your thread and try to help out, so IMHO your thread title should reflect that
