Best Sharpening Stones bad buying experience!

Here's another case of poor customer service for Bestsharpeningstones.com.

I was using my new Wicked Edge sharpener that I bought from them for the 3rd time about a week ago. While I was finishing up the 2nd knife with the 1600 grip ceramic stones, I noticed a weird noise. I thought it was the arm, as that was a little loose. I tightened it up and kept going. On the next pass, the stone broke off on the left side. At first I thought It was just the glue that failed, but the stone actually cracked in half. See picture below:

I have left several messages for Mike (owner), and fired off several emails this week and have gotten no response. Please let me know how I can get either a refund or new stone.


**NOTE: I just did a search, and noticed he's not a BBB accredited business, but has an F rating and 26 complaints filed against him! I am really sorry to hear about your experience. I'll make sure to share this with Mike. At this point, what else can I do for you to help?

This is not the first time this has happened w/ BSS. Their poor service is all over the forums. My suggestion is to not let him sell your product.

Best sharping stones is the worst dealer that I have ever dealt with. As the other members have said he is the worst dealer I have ever dealt with. He does not ever answer calls. I bought a pro pack II from Amazon and thought that I was buying through wicked edge. Wrong it was through this guy. After awaiting my prize the package finally arrived. Four stones were missing, called best stones no answer, two days later still no answer. Called wicked edge , and the man that answered the phone, mr. Allison, the nicest guy you could ever ask for, apologized, for the screw up, even though it was not his fault and said that he would take care of the matter that minute. You could not ask for better service from a company than wicked edge. Great product, great service. Stay away from best sharping stones in New Jersey, buy direct from wicked edge. Just my $.02
 
Damn it!!!!! I just ordered a 50 grit KME stone from them on the 20th...Would not have ordered from them if I had read this first...I hope I recieve the product. I recieved a thanks for your money Email but still no tracking info, so much for 2-3 day shipping which is why I purchased from them.

Still waiting for my KME 50 grit Beast stone, still no tracking number...Still no reply to the two E-mails I sent them...I just called them and now I am waiting for a call back.

This company advertises fast shipping (2-3 day priority), so far they have had 9 days to figure out how to put a small object, 1"x4", into some container or envelope to ship. Had I known this company falsely advertised shipping speeds I would have bought elsewhere and already had my stone.

Giving this 48 more hours for a reply via phone or E-mail before contacting my Bank and asking them to get my money back. My suggestion is for anyone considering buying anything they sell, LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!!
 
Multiple calls and E-mails with still no response, I am now disputing the charges with my bank.

I did order the stone from KME on Friday who shipped today and sent tracking. Should have done this in the first place.
 
Damn it!! Another shitty experience with best sharpening stones .com. Numerous messages and emails and contact forms filled out through their website. No response. I am so pissed I didn't see this thread before I ordered. It baffles me how a company can still exist after this shit customer service. Disputing the charges through PayPal tomorrow.

I'm having the same issue at the moment. I've dealt with Michael multiple times and have been pleased with their service overall. Until this last one that is.

Not a big order, just some lapping film and stropping compound. Got an automated response confirming my order and then again with tracking. The tracking still as Pre-Shipment info, meaning a label has been created, but the package hasn't hit the post office.

As far as I know it's really just a one man operation at BestSharpeningStones.com. I was really upset at first about an order sitting for weeks, but I'm beginning to suspect something far worse may have happened.

I haven't gotten any response via email or telephone from Mr. Poe, nor has he responded to my PayPal claim. I really hope it's a case of truly atrocious customer service, but I suspect some sort of tragedy may have befallen him.

I suggest anyone who's thinking of making a purchase hold off until word is heard one way or another.
 
I think I posted in this thread earlier but not sure. I bought all my shapton, all but one of myself dmt plates, as well as several ultra sharp diamond plates from BSD. I saved some money and I have never had a problem with them. Maybe I am lucky but I have had a few associates locally and on here buy from them and never heard any negative feedback.
I bought a coarse dmt 8" from them earlier this fall when they were moving to the west coast and it was still to my house in 5 days.
I have been on here awhile and just wanted to put in my two cents. They accept Paypal so at worst it would seem you could dispute.
Not steering people there but their dmt prices have always been good.
