Best slicers

From what I have, this is one of the best.

The Military and Caly are good for their thickness, but overall they're blown out of the water by the Centofante 3/4. Strickly talking modern folders, that wins from my collection.

Caly 3.5 vs Centofante 4:

Throwing in traditionals, the GEC #89 destroys the Centofante, with secondary blades slightly under 1mm thick and a main blade under 2mm thick:

Mine is my Benchmade 806D2 AFCK, closely followed by my M4 Military.

That's interesting. I've had the same experience with BM vs Spyderco. The Benchmades I've had and tested would always out cut the Spyderco's I've had at the time. Even more interesting is the 806 is saber ground while the Military is FFG.

I agree with Brets FTW IMO it doesn't get much better than an Opinel for a pure slicer. They can be made downright scary sharp with very little effort. With that being said many feel that they are too "traditonal" and not too terribly stylish, but I've always appreciated the simplistic and efficient styling and constrution of the Opinels. All in all given their price,I feel that every hard core knife enthusiest should at least purchase one for the heck of it.

I know! Although I wouldn't generalize "Benchmade vs. Spyderco", in this case, it seems the thickness of the blade behind the edge makes the BM the batter slicer according to my use. On the caliper, my 806 is between 0.028" to 0.030" thick. The Military reads between 0.030" and 0.035". I doesn't seems much, but I swear I can "feel" the difference! That being said, the Military is an awesome slicer...but this 806 is awesomer!

The best slicer I have is my BM Emissary. It's thinner and slices even better than my Para 2

Opinel, Cant beat a 1mm, thick, full-zero convex grind on some nice 1070

100%. Opinels can cut like crazy. My best friend is a knife guy also. I handed him my Opinel 6 Olive/carbon "custom" and said "check this out" and he got bit. Sharp as hell.
