best sodbuster type knife?

its funny you mention that...you dont know how close i came to not buying a sodbuster and just going with a '93 made 112 in that pocket. the 112 is one of my alltime favorite knives, and my favorite Buck model. i will admit, i dont have a Ecolite 112 yet, and i cant figure out why? LOL

anyway, back to the topic, i have been seeing alot of sodbuster types in this section and i relized i NEED to have one again. that case i had was a great edc knife for the job...it seems like i was always loaded down with various other tools, and it was the perfect knife for the job...lightweight and capable. i really enjoyed landscaping work, at the end of the day seeing a job well done was always satisfying. (unlike the work i do now...concrete finishing and laying brick and block. blahhh LOL)

Woody- Get a Case Soddie just for the heck of it. I had one as a kid and at 53 years old, I realized I needed another one. And, the price won't break the bank. ;)

well, i did order the Country Cousin....maybe a Case today? i will just tell the woman im doing a little comparison shopping LOL

i kinda see that happening as well LOL

just when i was trying to pick up a couple puukkos, i get an itch for a sodbuster. i know how this works...1, then 2, the 3 and so on

yep!
Do check out the AG Russell Rancher and Cowboy. I really like the slim profile and wide blades.

thanks man, will do. i kinda jumped the gun yesterday and didnt do alotta homework.
i just asked the question, and then had a Country Cousin ordered in no time.(less than an hour later) LOL
im sure theres plenty of other sodbusters out there i will like, and now maybe i can do some research before i pull the trigger again :D

GEC is coming out with another run of their Bull Nose Work Knife in both orange and black next month. You can reserve one or the other or both at www.collectorknives.net a Blade Forums sponsored dealer. .

Now you made me spend another $54.00. Thanks! I mean really thank you. I have been waiting on another run of these as I missed out earlier.

Another vote for the Queen CC. The one I had was well made, D2 steel, tough, inexpensive. Hard to beat combo.

I've got a bunch of these very cheap Adola "workknives". They cost about 7 or 8 dollars each, Italian made (I think...) , are carbonsteel that takes a good edge, and they do what they're intended for! Initially I bought them to practice sharpening on, eventually they became my most used knives...

I finally picked up my AGR black rucarta (micarta) Cowboy yesterday. Great snap, watch those figertips! Great fit and finish. I'll be trying it out later in the week. I have three other new arrivals to check out too!

and that was the selling point! ive never had a QC knife so i figured id give one a try...i like D2 and have never had a problem sharpening it, so i just ordered one. what can i say, when i want something i want it NOW LOL

thanks for the help everyone, much appreciated
woody

I would also add on some praise for the Queen Country Cousin, with one caveat, you may need to re-profile the blade on arrival, mine came quite obtuse, but after I put a new thinner ends on it, it held up great.

yeah, i really liked the green. gonna just leave it in the box and put it up, which seems kinda silly to me, but the seller claims its 1 of 40 made in '05. im not sure how to verify that.
